Season 2 x 17 Distant Sun - Earth vs Daxxam

Wow!
I really liked this one.
It just might be my favorite episode of the entire series.
What a difference an episode makes.
Can Kevin Smith direct every Supergirl episode from now on?

The Daxxamite Royal family comes to Earth looking for their lost son to bring him home.
His love for Supergirl and new progressive thinking after his stay on Earth give him other ideas.

The plot moves forward a great pace.
Each scene logically progressing into the next.
Supergirl, the HERO in this story, actually tries to resolve the situation by talking.
A plot mirrored in Alex's home troubles.

I will break things down a little more after everyone has seen the episode.

^ Haha I just came on to say something simmilar :)

After the rolicking I have been giving Supergirl over the last couple of weeks, its only fair that credit is given where it is due.

And it is certainly due with this weeks episode.

The plot focused on the main character, it moved along at a nice pace; the sub plots were given minimal time; and the overall narrative progressed naturally.

Plus, it was decently written also, with some really nice exchanges between the characters.

Really enjoyed it.

Well done Team Supergirl.

Roll on April.

Warning: Spoiler!

Peace.

Finally saw the Distant Sun episode. I agree with other commenters... the episode was good. Perhaps it was Kevin Smith's direction or maybe the writers got their act together. But a lot of the comic relief and throw-away lines felt like pure Kevin Smith. Maybe he's what the show needs to become interesting again. Obviously the cast likes working with him.

Anyway, this is closer to what the show should be, right down to the ominous foreshadowing at the end and the new mystery about the President. Here's hoping they can keep it at this level going forward. That would turn this doubter into a believer.

The only downside to me was how stiff and wooden Lynda Carter played her role. Maybe she's out of practice, but she was the only one who didn't ring true this time.
