Last week at work I saw a young Asian woman narrowly miss being struck by a heavy cart being pulled by another employee. Her reaction was interesting as she appeared to move up against a nearby wall and then try to RUN up the wall just like the 'Amazing Spider-Man'. The good news is she did not get injured. I did mention to her how she kind of looked like Spider-Man at that moment and then she laughed and actually mimicked his crouching/web-shooting pose from the movie right then and there.
Come to think of it - I have NEVER seen her use the elevators or stairs to go between floors in my building.
'Spider-Woman' update: Apparently she has 'spider-strength'! Today, I had to go inside a storage area to retrieve a box of items for employee training. She has the keys to the storage place and went with me to unlock the door. The box of items was on top of some other things but somebody had stacked a HEAVY box full of brochures on top of the one I needed. I tried to lift the top box off what I needed to get but the thing was so heavy and awkward that I dropped it on the floor. Now she is about 5'1" and very petite. I am 6" and about 225 lbs. She bends down and begins to LIFT up the box on her own and it looks like she has NO trouble moving it. I remind her that I am worried about her safety (back and arms). She immediately sets the box of brochures back down on the floor and says to just leave it there for now. I don't know if she went back in there later and moved it without anybody seeing her demonstrate this feat of strength.
