Lois Lane -- Superwoman was created by thewisewatcher
Looks like someone is answering our prayers at DC comics

“Who Is Superwoman?” part one! Lois Lane takes flight! Now powered up with the abilities of Superman, Lois pledges to carry on the super-legacy as Superwoman! There’s only one problem: Lois’ new powers are killing her, and neither she nor her friend and confidant Lana Lang know what to do about it. Will Lois even survive long enough to learn the deadly secret of Ultra Woman?

Sounds like it should be an entry in our latest contest!

DC has done a very, very poor job of hyping this new series. Marvel did a much better job hyping Spider-Gwen.

Cool! Anyone know if they will include an origin of some sort for how Lois is powered up? Or has it already happened in an existing series? (Yeah, I stopped going to my local comic shop a couple years ago. I'm outta touch.)

When the nu52 Superman(the one introduced in the 2011 reboot) died(long story there, and from the sound of it, he's gone for good, given that the pre-nu52 Superman--the one we've known and loved since 1986--is back, along with his Lois--again, the original '86 to 2011 version, separate from the one starring in this book--and their 10 year old son, the new Superboy), a beam of energy from his corpse struck Lois in the chest. Theory is that that's how she gained her new powers.

Figured I'd just place this here, the variant cover to Superwoman #1 :)

First: thank you.
Second: holy crap, that is a lot to digest!

Guess I may have to either go visit the store or figure out the digital comic app thingy. (Yeah, I'm an older fan.)

I think this is generally true, even across the ages. From Stan Lee to the present, Marvel knows how to generate hype and get mentioned in the normal press. DC can do it, but they just don't seem to be able to make it.

In the comics, all good ideas are stolen. Flying with aircraft has always been a favorite theme.

The comic is out today!

Go get your copy, folks. I already got mine and it could shape up to be a rather interesting story. And there are actually a few twists in there to boot. Granted, I didn't ready much of the New 52 so I was surprised but others that have been keeping up with it might not be.

Very cool. Reading those preview panels made me curious if Kara or any of the other Kryptonians exist in this series' continuity? I haven't read any New 52....

Supergirl exists and is getting a new book too. I've not been a fan of Nu52 Supergirl, hopefully they will do better.

There is currently a book about the TV show too, but it's not in mainline continuity.

Power Girl is on Eath 2, unfortunately. Doubly so as the comic sucks. Plus she's wearing the S shield, which I don't like. Nor do I like the genetically identical to Supergirl thing they have going. At least she is palling around with the Huntress, though we are back to having two Huntresses. Wayne on Earth 2, and Bertinelli from Grayson in the mainline in Birds of Prey.

Found it. Bought both covers. Read it. Generally enjoyed what they're doing with it.
