Hi all,
Thanks for all the kind words especially Ace, I'll be sending out personal PM to all those who sent me warm words.
I'm back with renewed purpose, I'll be taking some action to address some technical issues and I'm going to make some changes to the site appearance, so this weekend will be quite busy.
I'm also going to fix some non-technical faults with that that I've noticed when I've visited the site anonymously, the will be big changes afoot.
Again thanks to all the members who commented in the goodbye thread, your kind words was a joy to read.

The Kryptonian red and blue colors are really nice. One of the oldest comics tropes is that superheroes have a love for bright primary colors, Kryptonians in particular.
That seemed to fall out of favor in the recent movies, probably Snyder's influence. and Miller before him, but now that DC is lightening up a bit, we'll see brighter colors that literally scream, "comic book". WW might be a transitional movie in that regard, given its setting it needs to have dark parts. But Amazons are anything but faded and dull and dark.
The trend of trying to make superheroes "dramatic" and "weighty" and "serious" in the movies seems to be passing, at least the way they tried initially to do it. Once again, the Snyder influence. If they'd coupled "dark" with in-depth writing and psychological thrillers and true drama, then maybe it could have worked. But that's not where the writing went. It just got muddled between serious and stupid and a bit of silly, but I believe that the producers and directors thought bright primary colors would take away from their work being serious. That it made the movies childish.
But I never liked the dark, desaturated look. Leave that for Batman. Kryptonians in particular, but superheroes in general, need to stand out, to scream "look at me!" and outrageously bright colors is one way. I was hoping for meaty, serious writing, but since we didn't get that, I'd rather go with fun and extravagant. Hopefully, Guardians of the Galaxy will continue to have an outsized influence on superhero-related movies, because that's just fun. (As long as they pay proper respect to the traditions of the characters.)
Sure, we ordinary people don't dress like that, but that's the point of it all. We don't wear Spandex and fly either.

As far as I'm concerned I prefer white BG and black text because it makes reading easier, but that's just my personal preference.
