new shows

This is the only place to chat about this stuff anymore...but no-one really keeps it up to date! there are plenty new shows with potential in them. Black lightening season 2 is started, Legacies (vampire diaries spin off) has started, Titans is a dark real life version of teen titans with lots of potential. And netflix released Sabrina. anyone see any of these with anything to mention? I know ep 2 of black lightening the girl lifts a hydro pole, shoves a car aside then rips a car door open

I've just recently started watching Sabrina (trying to avoid binging it lol ), mainly because I am a HUGE fan of Riverdale

Tbh, I'm not expecting any "super" powers (except, well, the obvious, spells ).

Never liked Black Lightning so didn't watch past the pilot/1st episode so can't comment on that, sry

Titans looks garbage to me, judging by the trailer, so not watching that.

Legacies I've never heard of, so again can't comment on that.  I was never a Vampire Diaries fan tbh.

I suggest that anyone who is a fan of a new show should post a brief, informal review with enough details to let the rest of us know why you like it. Maybe a comment on the writing, on the actors of interest and the plot. A paragraph or so is all it takes.

Nothing generates enthusiasm like enthusiasm. 

I find that there is so much new stuff popping up all the time that I ignore most of it. But I love to hear about new shows that someone else in our community has found interesting, and why.

Narrows the search, if you will.

Is Sabrina quite a dark Sabrina unlike Melissa Joan Hart? I imagine her similar to the evil schoolgirl who ends up strapped up in an asylum after the 'good' teen witch strips her of her powers to become the dominant one. I can't remember the name of the film - The Coven? Was quite a cool film back in the nineties./early 2000's.

Sabrina is certainly darker in tone then the Melissa Joan Hart incarnation.

I wouldn't say Sabrina herself is "darker".  She is still good of heart, at least from the opening episode I have seen.

Not sure if that answers your question, but I will have to watch more episodes to see how her character develops.

I'm rather liking Titans so far.  Starfire has certainly had a few good moments to watch imo too.

Yes, Natalie Alyn Lind as Lauren (one of the Stucker twins), Jamie Chung as Blink and Emma Dumont as Polaris =)

And let's not forget Amy Acker (who plays here the twins mother), if you remember Angel ... you know why ! ;D

No super-strenght as far as i remember...

I'm surprised nobody's talked about this show since it started, Thunder is pretty strong despite the silly sound she makes before using her powers, haha.

Also, did she blow up a Confederate statue in that clip? Hahahaha

Any super-strong vampire girls in Legacies?

The current Sabrina comic book series, which Archie Comics has been making for a few years, is incredibly dark IMHO.  It makes the TV show Riverdale seem like family hour at times.

I think I am on episode 8 or 9 and they just started saying 'shit'.  Necrophelia, pot smoking, murder, torture, etc.  But Sabrina sort of stands above it all as a good girl.  Very little use of powers until the very end.  Nothing that most of us on here would be excited about.

100% agree.  Tonally, the show is vastly different to Riverdale imo.  I'm not sure how any potential crossover can happen tbh.  They seem, literally, worlds apart.

Strangely enough, I didn't feel the show as much as Riverdale.  Not sure what it was exactly.

I found myself preferring the, hmm, surreal/hyper reality of Riverdale, finding it more fun.  And their storylines and characters seem more engaging.

I wouldn't say Sabrina is a bad show (the production values are really good), and Kiernan Shipka is great as Sabrina.  Michelle Gomez is a blast as always

But it just didn't grip me like Riverdale did from episode 1.

I haven't watched the Sabrina show yet, but I still plan to.  When I first saw the trailer, I assumed it was based on the current scary Archie Comics series.  From what you guys have written here, it's not as dark as that, but still seems worth a look.

so.....i was randomly watching gothic. and season 3 episode 20...11 min in. has a pretty good throatlift. and this is the shitty thing about losing the run board. NONE spreads these kind of things anymore, its frustrating that the supergirl knowledge doesn't get spread as it used to!!

What show? Gothic doesn't show anything to me.

But I agree with your point, not much info on where the super-strength is. 
The shows that have it usually are not for me, hope others who are interested can mark them.
