Supergirl - Role Reversal

Thinking about yesterday's global mass protest against the pollution and possible destruction of our Earth, a prominent NASA technician designs a module to carry his daughter to safety. His daughter is projected far into the galaxy away from her father's growing fears for her safety, only for her to eventually reach Planet K, which orbits a RED sun. Herself and the population are astounded by the powers the girl now possesses under the crimson star.
A possible Story idea?

DC did a story like this a long time ago.  Lois Lane went to K planet.  If I can find it, I'll post it.

I remember reading one story like that around here, but I don’t remember much about it.  As a series, that could be interesting.
