Maybe we'll see more heroes and heroines hitting theatres and video sooner....Disney supposedly buying Marvel and their library of 5000 characters for a cool $4B.....

Just thinking of the crosovers.... :P

You beat me to it!

I'm not sure how this is going to go ~ it might be a disaster for Marvel and Disney.

Do they really have a complementary management structure?

Wolverine is a Disney character?

So many fanboys are jumping on the bandwagon and cursing this before its even signed, but I'm not as skeptical. I would imagine they'll keep the brands separate and not mess with them for the most part and then use their distribution and media resources to churn them out faster. Whether they are at the same quality remains to be seen, but I don't think they are gonna put the clamps on the violence and darkness of some of their properties.

DISNEY is a squeeky clean brand, but all their properties are not. Remember, they 'own' Desperate Housewives which is about as non G-rated as TV gets for a network show. They're film arms have also produced some 'adult-demographic' movies' as well, and I think I read somewhere their record label actually did some hard core artists like Insane Clown Posse.

Time could tell, but I think if nothing else, we'll se Capt America, Avengers, and others to the screen faster now as well as new animated series.

Just my $.02

Yeah supposedly.....I think there is more info now explaining that the distribution and production deals with Fox, Paramount, etc for the movies on the slate (e.g. Thor) and ones already 'owned' (e.g. Xmen) are staying put as-is. Devil is prob in the details, but that's what I had heard....

In other news, Lassiter from Pixar is VERY excited about the prospects, supposedly....

Shouldn't that be the "Dare" Devil in the details?

Does this now mean we'll see Selena Gomez play Arana in a live action film?
