This past Sunday at Wizard's Chicago Comic-con, I came across a booth promoting this film that's coming to DVD on 11-30-10. It's Shadowland, a low budget, indenpently produced vampire action/horror film filmed in the ST. Louis, Missiouri area by a local cast and crew.

It's from a ST. Louis based studio called Pirate Pictures. It stars Catlin Macintosh as somewhat heroic female vampire. Macintosh is a fitness model. I thougth this movie migth be of interest to us here on this board. There is a trailer on Youtube. It is going to ab available at Best Buy on Novermber 30 of this year.

The offical website is ShadowlandTheMovie.com.

It just so happens I saw a clip yesterday. Here's two scenes that I found.

Also, the Aug. 22 episode of The Gates (ABC) had a pretty cool vampire fight.

St. Louis, huh? I thought that church looked familiar.

I posted on the films IMDB message board page if the film was going to air on Syfy or Chiller and a person invloved with the film said both networks turned them down. Said the film did not have enough gore or CGI monsters.

Wow - all right. I like some of their ideas for FX and stunts.

They've got the superspeed down.

The toss through the glass and some of the flash bang stuff - not as much - but still really solid for an indie group. I've got some ideas how they could have created "distractions" to enhance the realism. If only there was a 36 hour day!
