all new Buffy the vampire slayer film

I don't know if anybody here has been fllowing this, but warner bros now has the rights and is set to produce an all new, Buffy movie. Fran Rubel Kuzai, who directed the 1992 film and who served as producer on the tv series is seving as one one the producers. She brougth the project from Fox to WB,

Whit Anderson is serving as the writer. The film will have no conection to the film or tv series. This versionis said to be darker than the 1992 film. Joss Whedon is not involved. No director has been found yet, no has anybody been cast.

Compared to the series the first movie was crap, and they know that.

So why are they using the same person to do this one? Anyhow, without Joss Whedon involved I'm having extremely low expectations about it all.
