Girl of Steel Fan Movie...
Not really sure if this is in the correct place, as I normally keep rather quiet on these message boards but here it goes:
I just wanted to make people aware that I am working on a project called Girl of Steel, which will be based on Supergirl. If we've raised enough money then I hope to start filming in the summer.
The lead is played by an enthusiastic (and beautifull) cosplayer and Model Dawn, this is her in costume...
To help raise money, stock photos will be sold of Dawn in various poses, sorry no nudity, just like the final film.
Please visit this web address for more info...
Facebook Page
If I'm a bit vague, I appologise, but I'm not that good at writing this sort of thing.
Thanks
Mark

I would love to hear the planned synopsis or maybe even see a trailer
(both could help finding people ready to fund the project)
Anyway I hope you get enough funds to start the filming.

A general synopsis of the film would be:
Kara was sent to earth to protect Kal-el during his youth, however something went wrong on her journey, which caused her to be some years late.
Superman is now missing, a long with Lex Luther. Mercy Graves, Lex Corps vice president, has taken full control of the company during Lex's absence, meanwhile, strange, zombie like creatures, are wreaking havoc on the streets of Metropolis.
I hope that's getting you excited, I intend to use wires in front of green screen for the flying scenes too, there will be kryptonite scenes.
As for trailers, I don't have one as yet, but in the coming weeks I hope to have a showreel with re-enactment to certain scenes from the Superman scenes.

I'm very sorry to hear this...

To top that, I felt that Dawn, who was playing the lead, in my mind lost interest in the project, she agreed to do a short 5-10 minute mini-film. After wasting £800 of my own money (costume and camera cost) and being ignored when I asked when the mini-film would be shot, the decision was made to go our separate ways, I don't even know if she's gonna send the costume back despite the numerous requests.

I can sympathize with just how much work and how many moving parts there are on these and how easy it is for things to fall apart. Rule #1: Never leave a costume or equipment with your talent or friends. Rule #2: Have a backup plan for weather, cast not showing, police bothering you for permits, and everything taking longer than you hope - even in pre-production. Rule #2: It has to stay fun and be "for you" or it's never going to be worth it.
Maybe start small(er) with a photo shoot and photo manips if you try again - it's how I started.

Wow... I'm sorry to hear she doesn't look like a nice person

J2001, as for her being a nice person, I've mentioned before, she was enthusiastic about doing it, when she received the costume she was very excited, even said she loved me at one point for all the new people who were liking her Facebook page, which gave me a positive boost, then all of a sudden she just changed and now I'm the most hated man in Britain in her eyes
