" WW2 has been Green lighted "

We all ready had a World War II

Are they rebooting it already?

It looks like Gal is in a modern(ish) setting of a London landscape at the very end of the first to set up the sequel. It looks like 70's / 80's similar to Lynda's season two.

My understanding is that the modern setting at the end was to set up her appearance in Justice League, which was already well along in the pipeline. The sequel just approved may (or may not) keep that modern setting. I did not get a 70s/80s vibe, and I'm not sure what purpose would be served by setting the sequel in Lynda Carter's time period.

Early mutterings suggest an ‘80s Cold War flick

Given how the first one "re-purposed" CA: The First Avenger, maybe CA: The Winter Solider is next :P

They might even round off the "trilogy" with WW: Civil Justice :D

Peace.

I enjoyed the fact that the first movie was set in a shooting war (WWI). Cold war in the 80's was mostly spy vs spy stuff. Some notable exceptions were the ten year long Russian / Afghanistan war, and the French Indo China wars, ending in Vietnam, both of which ended like all invasions of those countries.

There were some WW comics that portrayed her protecting the poor people of little countries that were getting invaded by the Major Powers.

But none of that feels right for an American-made movie about WW, especially since the US lost in Vietnam and is now stuck in the same mess in Afghanistan that the Soviets were stuck in during the 80's.

I would greatly prefer a WWII setting, and if not then, a modern setting (post BvS but pre-Justice League).

It'll be interesting what the powers-that-be come up with for setting.

Isn't there a moment in WW1 where Steve, pointing at a photo says something like, 'my baby child - I've still to meet him' pointing Gal to a picture. Right away I was thinking, 'well 35 to 40 years on, someone else will' (I could be wrong tho).

ETA The above from me is wrong. It will have to be Steve's Grandson in the sequel. Maths was never my strong point at school ..
