Just released today. Kind of ambivalent about the suit, but I'll reserve judgement until I see it after post production.

I'm going to say this, she is the wrong actress for the role, I know many will disagree with me but it has to be said.

I've suggested int he discord chat room a few others and while not big names I feel could be a better choice.

And here I thought she looked exactly like this classic Ms. Marvel (<snicker>:

Hmm interesting choice of colors, considering they show cased the red and black version in Hall H.

I'm guessing 1) this either harks back to the original comic book costume; and 2) that it will be adjusted in post.

Still, interesting to show one outfit design, then use another.

She also looks like she has bulked up a bit for the part.

Out of curiosity Fats, who would be your choice and why is Larson not it?

Peace.

In the day and age of PC we are not going to see mainstream heroines look drop dead 'super' and sexy. Going to be fit, trim, and nice looking. I'll take what I can get and stick around other places for what I fed on steadily growing up. Short skirts, sexy girls/ladies, revealing cleavage, larger than normal body proportions in the right places, but I do think Larson looks ok here. Can't wait to see her powers. Seems she is squeezing this guys hands to get him to do something.

The suit is all wrong. What were they thinking?

Thank everything she has longer hair.
I was sure they were going to go flat top shaved sides Captain Marvel.
We should be very thankful.

The suit is just OK.
Boring and forgettable.

By the looks of things they're going to use the classic Kree green for a while at least.

I'm taking this to be some kind of Kree Military Flight Suit due to the color and the cut. Hopefully we'll get another uniform later in the film.

Aside from that, I think she looks good (not counting the uniform), She certainly has the acting skills to carry off the role.

If i could describe the entire vibe-i would go with Akward.

Akward

The cuts not great, it makes her look kind of baggy, her shoulders a little broad-not in a muscular way, but like shes wearing to much, Yeah it probabbly has some CGI but the color is drab.

Akward

And quite frankly i kind of like that.

I always think Captian Marvel is most intresting when the world is kind of agianst her. Like thins are just about to shit on her, and she knows it-but she just has to wait the extra beat. Shes kinda of a cosmic straight person to the world and to the marvel universe-and i am getting the vibe. i am not sure that the people in the background are crew or extra, but likeling how everyone seems kind of blah to see her. That works

yeah i kind of like that.

I was reading some interpretations of the costume. Mar-vell is supposed to be training her, right? Maybe this is his uniform (or a copy of it) which would explain the fit and color. So later in the movie she upgrades to the more iconic look. It would explain a lot.

I'm okay with it not being feminine and sleek, but it is not very iconic either... it is like the ant-man suit without the mask.

AZ Powergirl Cara Nicole just unveiled her Ms. Marvel cosplay.
I would love to see this movie.
I guarantee this look would dominate the screen.

Even if they added a full undergarment so her legs and arms are covered, no skin showing from the chin down, I'd still like to see more of a nod to the colors and silhouette of pre-90s captain marvel. Hollywood has done some amazing things with textures and tailoring, making full body suits like Spider-Man tangible while still retaining minimalist idealized human-figure outlines that are at the root of drawing 28 pages a month. The S-bolt is way more distinctive than another 'Captain America Star' stamped on some tomboy's chest.

I've made my peace with Captain Marvel's new in-books look thanks to playing Marvel Heroes Online. I still think dressing a flying brick in blue and red is just DUMB from a branding perspective. It has some weirdly cyberpunk/anime flourishes but they make it work. That outfit we're seeing from the set? It's like taking the worst of the worst from her many variations and then sloshing a big jug of 'frumpy' over it to make sure the dumpster fire burns cheerily.

I think what they're trying to do in invoke a different take of the original Mar-Vell's costume

Which eventually was replaced by this.

And lead Carol to wear this at first.

And this one in the end.

Just like the Iron Man Mark 1 armor we are probably going to get her wearing green at first and add the red and blue later. If you look at the pictures the paneling is designed in a way that mimicks the shape of the most recent costume very close, it just need some color.

I don’t really care about costume colors and design, other than it lives up to the comic book norm of either showing some skin or else is thin and fit tightly enough to reveal the muscle dynamics beneath.

SG and even more WW did this, as do most Marvel on-screen characters. Black Widow anyone?

And yes, I know that few actresses have the body of a comic book character, and can’t wear painted on skintight costumes, but the MS Marvel outfit looks like a chemical exposure suit. Even a pair of combat blacks would be sexier.

Have they ever heard of Lycra? And those boots remind me the snow boots I used to dress my kids in.

I’m with Fats that Brie is miscast for this role, but the costume doubles down on their mistake.

Yes, I think of this as a Kree outfit that she then tailors later (better fit, colors) to become her Captain Marvel outfit. She has powers at this point from one of the photos, and the map points to returning to a now unfamiliar city.

Maybe the producers were going for a Kree-jerk reaction.
