In fact I liked it.
Pushed a lot of the right buttons.
Not everyone but it is only the first trailer.
I got the distinct impression she will be the brooding type.
Hopefully she will smile sometime in the film.

Makes a change from trailers that give away the whole plot

Carol kinda is like that, in a way.
Hence the final line

Peace.

^^ THIS! In today's "instant gratification" society and "give it to me now" mentality with everything, it's nice to see a trailer that doesn't reveal too much in terms of plot or "best scenes".
Of course, as it draws near with extended trailers, TV spots, alternate trailers and featurettes, we'll probably have seen 60% of the movie in small parts before its release.

She seems to have her powers throughout the movie other than flashbacks, so I don't know what you are saying. She falls from really high up and walks away and is shown using Energy bursts.
The last shot isn't a costume morph either, she's just powering up but is clearly in blue/red not the Kree Green at the start of the shot. It's also the first trailer! They really shouldn't give EVERYTHING away.

Not a single shot of Captain Marvel being Captain Marvel
She fires her energy bolts on top of the train. Does that count?
It looks like they are going to show her backstory of how she gets to BE Captain Marvel in flashbacks, woven into the main story.
And ye, I'm glad they didn't show more like most trailers do these days.
Peace.

We know a few things from the trailer:
- Her memory is fragmented, though probably from the Kree not Rogue.
- How she gets her powers is changed. Captain Marvel's powers != Ms. Marvel's powers in the comics. Ms. Marvel lost her powers to Rogue, and got powers back in X-Men while the Brood did experiments on her turning her into Binary (which is her current powerset, she just lost her connection to a white hole, so she isn't amped up unless she absorbs enough energy). In the clip, we see her in a kree uniform spreadeagled on a machine ... that looks a lot like what the Brood did to her.
- She has her powers from the start of the trailer -- and presumably the entire movie except in flashbacks. (It'd be cool if those flashbacks are pretty short so even though it's an origin we start with her powered up and see lots of that, it mitigates the "it's an origin story" problem as we start the movie with things already rolling and pick it up as we go along ).
- We see her with some Kree in a squad (which they said she was in some Kree led group in the stills)
- We see some Skrulls!

I'm interested in her personal timeline. We see flashes of her buried Earth memories, as child and in the military. At some point she must encounter the Kree and get experimented on to get her powers. I'm guessing she's memory wiped and told she's Kree.
There could be considerable time spent w/ the Kree, so the age of the planes in her memory gives us a clue on how long that could have been. The movies seems to be "90's". (pagers, blockbuster which was founded in 1985), so her military memory could be 70's or 80s.
I really like the flashes of the many ages of Carol falling down and getting back up. The ending shot is also pretty nice.
I can't wait to see some more.

They have changed her origin story, though I can see elements of it being there - Jude Law as Mar-Vell for example. And there is a still of them together, so they meet/work together at some point.
Also, Fury says in WS something along the lines of "Last time I trusted someone, I lost an eye" And we see the famous pager with the word "With Target" on it. Could the two be linked? Did Capt. Marvel have something to do with that?
Lots of interesting things to discover.
Can't wait to see more, but I don't want the whole movie spoiled in a trailer

So if I'm reading things right, the F-16 is from 74, and introduced in 78. The F-16c entered production in 1984 (according to wikipedia). Though it seems there are variations (Block 25, 30/32, 40/42, and the curent 50/52). The latest variations seems to be from the 90's.
So that's tagging her military memorys as no older than late 80's likely. Not quite sure when "in the 90's" the movie is set, but that gives a fair amount of leeway in the timeline for her to spend with the Kree. It could easily be a decade or more. If it's a late model F-16c, then the timeline is a more more tight as that's early 90's (93), the movie would have to be late 90's to give her five years with the Kree.
Thanks!

Yes, I think that works, just showing snippets of her back story makes sense for the opening trailer.

In a movie with Skrulls ... trusting someone is big problem. It would explain a lot about Fury.
I too hope that they keep the reveals where they are at. They can show a few more shots of her using powers (but hopefully not the best ones) and some skull transformations, a few shots of Kree and make a really flashy trailer w/o telling us any more.

Note that if they are accurate with their timelines, the F16C purchases began in 1984 and are still in service today, in many countries including the American National Guard. It would take an expert like Fats to distinguish the "C' version from others. The F16A model was flying in the later half of the 70's.
Of course, there is little likelihood that the movie would bind itself to such a geeky bit of reality, and would simply show that she once flew an American fighter plane. The F16 is the coolest fighter plane ever made (IMHO).
It's undoubtedly a pure coincidence that the F16C planes shown in the movie entered USAF service in the same year that the Wonder Woman movie is being set in. 1984.

The F16c looks the same depending on what block was fitted, the blocks are all internal upgrades to the aircraft, the big problem in determining when the movie is set based on the F16 is that it's been flying from the 80 - today, so that makes it hard if not impossible, you would be better looking at the cars.

In this case it gave me what I wanted ... the oldest date it could be (not the newest). The movie has plenty of leeway to play with the timeline. It's pretty cool that the plane has been operational that long.
You get the same problem with cars. Cars can be on the road for a long time, so you have to look for the most modern car (though often that's a flub).
Another date would be the prices on the front of the blockbuster.
There seems to be a shot of what I think is the Metro Rail in LA, which was built in 1990. That's a checkpoint for the Captain Marvel section of the movie.
