I wonder if the appearance of youknowwho at the end credits is a taste of things to come in WW3?   ;)

I just saw it last night.  It might not have been perfect, but it was definitely a lot of fun. It was bright and colorful and full of action. A couple of plot issues here and there. The one that strikes me: If everyone watching gets their "wish," wouldn't a lot of then contradict each other?

The thing is, this was enough fun that you could ignore such questions.

SPOILER ALERT     SPOILER ALERT     SPOILER ALERT

I've never been a huge WW fan (her lack of invulnerability makes Kryptonians a lot more fun to me), but I enjoyed this movie, but very differently than WW#1. From what I know of WW comics, her power levels have been up and down and even gone for entire series.

The movie obviously has a very feminine feel and flavor, both from the characters and the directing, which was very enjoyable, but that also makes it different than most superhero movies. That could be a downside to some, but I found it was charming in this movie. How in the end, a man's love for a boy, encouraged by Diana, saves the world. I hadn't expected that.

SPOILERS

What helped in some ways, and something I usually don't like, is that the whole "this stone grants a wish, but only one per person and you can ask for it back" thing established early on that I should abandon all of my usual hopes for sci-fi type story logic. This movie is full of pure god-magic, which is what WW is all about anyway.

Once I had that mental adjustment, and I was prepared for it, it all worked.

That said, I'd still LOVE a movie with a believable sci-fi foundation built under a superhero(ine) movie. Most of my wishes will never fly.

Like a Star Trek movie with a Security Chief who is both cute, young and blonde and also secretly a Kryptonian-esq character. Something that is only revealed when our Security Chief faces an impossible threat. Seth McFarland's Star Trek series got a little ways down that road, but there is a long ways yet to go to do it rightously.

But I digress into a different kind of fantasy... that kind of stuff we have to write ourselves.

I haven't seen Wonder Woman 84 in the UK. I don't think Gal's movie has been released here yet. I saw it was getting some bad reviews, but then I've just seen this. I am Absolutely Gobsmacked! Happy Easter All!

Honestly, post a search on YouTube for Wonder Woman 84. Gal Gadot is absolutely magnificent as Wonder Woman and looks very close to our Diana Prince as Lynda Carter was, but with an astonishing far greater range of powers.
Go see.
