As per KS.com and regarding the Kara-centric episode, "Fierce":
"Though The CW's shows are still often ranking below most other networks, Smallville scored very well in many key demographics this week, including an impressive gain in female teen viewers. The show also placed second in the hour among males 18-34, teens, and female teens.
This week's show had 4.8 million viewers, and again placed as one of the network's highest-rated shows. Should this keep up, a Season Eight may be very likely..."
This bodes well, IMO, for the possiblity of a spin-off.....not only is the season holding strong and performing well for CW, the teen female demographic, which is key for this show, is actually on the rise....hmm, somebody start a letter campaign to CW!!

Maybe it's so if she needs to she can take off her belt and use it to handcuff a bad guy to a sign post while she deals with the other person.
