FX Powers pilot

Lets hope Retro Girl figures prominently either in flashbacks or ithe Retogirl II mold....

FX has finally ordered a pilot based on Brian Micheal Bendis's comic book series Powers.

Apparently they're now making up for lost time, fast tracking it for a spring production start.

POWERS (FX) - The long-in-the-works drama, based on the Brian Michael Bendis/Michael Avon Oeming comic of the same name, has officially been ordered to pilot. Michael Dinner is on board to direct the hour, which was penned by Charles H. Eglee. "Powers" revolves around Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, homicide detectives in a world where superheroes are commonplace. Sony Pictures Television and FX Productions are co-producing with Dinner and Eglee executive producing alongside Circle of Confusion's David Alpert. Casting is underway for a spring production start.

It seems Friday Night Lights is the springboard for creating comic & Action heroes/heroines! Taylor Kitsch became Gambit, Adrianne Palicki is WW, Minka Kelly is one of Charlie's Angels and now this! Hmm...

Lucy Punch has been cast as one of the lead detectives, Deana Pilgrim (Katee Sackoff reportedly wanted the role):

No word on Detective Walker (Kyle Chandler was rumored) yet, but Callista (the young girl who becomes Retro Girl II in the comic) has also been cast with Bailee Madison taking the honors:

Powers was one of the most interesting series I've read in the last years. I really hope this one won't tank.
