Well, still no sign of Adrianne as WW, but Ms. Hurley is looking pretty nice as Veronica Cale:

I see a lot of comments concerning how often WW is in costume, but I have every WW season to date and I don't remember Lynda Carter being in costume as often as some might think.

The producer might be Kelley, but the director had his hands in projects like Friday Night Lights and The Event, so I'm optimistic!

For what it's worth, the 'leaked' script had her in costume twice -- once in the beginning and once at the end. It is presumed they are filming the former this week as it involves some kind of chase on a busy city street (Hollywood Blvd).

Keep in mind this was the (supposedly) the original script and is wide open to changes by the studio. I agree with Jason in that Im optimistic that Reiner (director) will only help this show's chances for success.

Andy Mangels, WW authority and comic insider, is reporting from his source that the costume is definitely based on the new look Diana is sporting in the comic. Not what I wanted to hear but hopefully with something more 'functional' might result in more/better action. Still, while expected, still a bummer!

So a leather jacket is more functional?

Interesting. From a mechanics stand-point, her original costume was more functional in terms of movement.

Agreed. Functional? Why do these comic or other fantasy adaptations have to be explained so non-genre fans can digest it? What the hell is a greek goddess with superhuman strength and a leather jacket doing in reality anyway. I frickin' hate Hollywood or these producers how they want to have "realism" and make it acceptable to the population. Just give me "idealism" and make the damn show sexy and good!

"Functional" from the standpoint of being able to do stunt work and fight scenes without having to worry so much about her ta-ta's falling out or having a wardrobe malfunction. The "strapless" bustier top, I imagine kinda limits movement in doing stunt work.

That said, I think it's total BS. I cannot stand when people take an iconic character like WW -- known for her costume -- and change it like that. This one, though indirect at the DC/WB people who changed it in the comics first. I f**kin hate this trend in comics of making everything dark and cyberpunkish to make things 'believable'...

Someone posted this on another WW board as a speculated compromise. Doubtful it would be this, but it's a nice amalgam of the old versus new costume, if they wanted to "try" to give homage to the original and not go all leathery/dark angel:

I know I'm gonna be crucified for this, but I quite enjoy the new look sans the leather jacket, I know it's iconic of the character, but the old swimsuit never worked for me.

I can actually handle that more than the whole chopper chic ensemble.

I always thought the original with some thigh heels would be sexy, functionality be damned!

Looks like we might have to wait a few days for set leaked pics of her in action. Apparently production has been moved to Irvine indoors for the next few days. A recent tweet (at 4:00am PST, no less) by the girl playing Etta reads:

"STILL on set!!! We are working HARD for you! First day has been AWESOME so far! Adrianne Palicki & Cary Elwes are just wonderful! Lucky me! "

If Etta and Harry (Elwes) are in the scenes, they are probably filming indoors right now. Reports have Hollywood Blvd shut down I believe in late March so that'll prob be the big chase / action scene where we'll see her in costume. Question is, will we get some leaked photos before....

I guess you shouldn't have to wait- here's a studio shot of the costume.

I am one of the most critical of the new Wonder Woman series- costume included- as Lynda Carter's WW was the whole reason I got into this genre.

Being that the case, I actually like the costume! The colors are true, though I agree that the boots could be different, and she fills it out just fine. I think some forget how "skinny" Lynda Carter actually was.

Visually, I like. I'm still hopeful about the show itself.

Indeed! It's the same morons saying she's not 'Amazonian looking and muscular' enough. As if Lynda Carter was some brickhouse fitness type....

Same here, while the "mental image" of WW has changed a lot over the years I think that this kind of complain are quite baseless. A few people did side-by-side comparisons and Lynda Carter wasn't particulary muscular herself.
Right now I think we are still in the rant and rave phase, where the fandom is picky for no reason at all (the same happened with the first stills of the X-Men movie costumes).

I really like her hair there!

I wonder - which alter ego is this? The business owner/WW or the second alter ego?

This is probably the "high profile" alter ego - since she is not exactly keeping a low profile here. Can't wait to see the perhaps mousey one.

LF - do you know if she's still in the military?

People are expecting a new Xena, and not a new Wonder Woman. If people were waiting for a new Wonder Woman probably they would complain about the lack of some elements like the invisible plane or the starred bottom and not about how buffed she looks or not

Going ahead is the only one way to go to the future.

 I haven't considered that in the meantime there was the Xena factor, nice catch.

I would really like to see some production stills of this beyond the promo we got. It's quite exciting to me that it will be a physical role. The bar is so much higher these days than the fights in the '70's show, it will be interesting to see where they have pitched it.
