This is an excellent location for this. He is using the slope lift to spare the battery power for a longer flight, and it allows him to fly at or below or just above the observer without the danger of hitting the ground. Looks like he is using the lower legs and feet for both pitch and roll control. Very clever.

The ABC News feature seems to imply that he deliberately went for a pin-up model to be Supergirl. Very cool!
