They've certainly assembled all the pieces to make something good, and that gives them a shot at something great. And having Daredevil be well received only gives Netflix and Marvel MORE impetus to reach for something good. They could try to "play it safe" but not doing so with Daredevil got them acclaim, so it's time to double down.

Jones has got a lot going for it:

- based off a great story (check)
- credible actress (check)
- dark story being made by a network where such things work (check, this show would suck on ABC)
- good guest star potential (Luke Cage locked, Matt Murdock likely, Maybe a one shot cameo of Captain America changing, maybe a scene with Scott Lang). (check) Even better, the guest stars make sense in the context, she needs a lawyer, so Cage sends his friend over, etc. I have nothing against cameos mostly played for silliness or "gosh! it's X", but they pale next to actually making those characters part of the story. Not to mention she interacts with SHIELD so there is cameo potential with Agents of SHIELD and with Fury himself. Hmm... WTF happened to Clay Quarterman anyway? Oh, yeah, killed during the Red Hulk storyline.

Lastly, no need to try to fill 20+ episodes. I do think that there is something to the focused British season of six episodes to the 12-13 of a netflix season (HBO/FX/etc). Less need for filler episodes, and it's easier to keep all the episodes on point without spacing things out. You think a show is better when it's 50% great episodes, rather than 25% even when there are the same # of great episodes overall.

They showed the crowd at NYCC the entire first episode of Jones.

They didn't say much about it other than it's really good.

"We'll honor Jeph Loeb's request not to spoil the episode, but here's our brief review.

Jessica Jones is all about balancing Krysten Ritter's wit with her gravitas, something the first episode pulls off with aplomb. Believe the hype about Ritter's performance - she swings between irreverent and gutwrenching with perfect ease.

Mike Colter's Luke Cage is a standout in the pilot, and the entire cast is pitch perfect. The tone of the show is very feminine, and very noir, kind of like a much older, darker Veronica Mars.

Fans will not be disappointed when the show launches in November - 'Rama Rating: 10 out of 10!"

There are some comments from Carrie Ann Moss who is playing a lawyer for the Rand Family, namely eventually Daniel Rand A.k.a Iron Fist who is up after Luke Cage (which is filming right now). There were K'un-Lun connections in the first season of Daredevil.

I consider this all good new. Though that audience would be pumped for anything, and would love what they saw unless it was absolute shit, its still good to hear that a crowd has seen it and is really impressed by it.
