I seem to have lost interest in just about everything CW -- though I still watch Legends (because it's fun).

This crossover OTH, I'm going to watch it.

Neither this week's Supergirl or Batwoman made mention of the Crisis. However, the stinger to tonight's Flash season 6 premiere had this little tidbit, including the date(in universe) of the final battle. The countdown begins. Spoiler warning.

I think Flash and mainly Arrow, will be the shows that set up Crisis.  Legends doesn't start til AFTER Christmas, with its first episode being the final part of Crisis.

Supergirl's episode was "ok", though tbh, not to sure what Lena's motivation is, apart from just spite now.  Which I think would be a disservice to her, but its only been one episode.

I couldn't even make it through Batwoman tbh.  I started, I really did.  But I made it about 5 mins in, and turned it off.

The crossover is probably the most interesting thing left with these shows (apart from Legends, which is awesome fun :P )

Peace.

Group shot on the Waverider set, including our first look at the ever versatile Tom Cavanagh as Pariah. From all indications, he's doing triple duty(at least), playing the newest version of Harrison Wells to join Team Flash, Eobard Thawne aka the Reverse Flash, and a Harrison Wells who comes to call himself Pariah, a key character from Crisis on Infinite Earths

Seeing some of these characters really makes me smile.

Hard pass on Supergirl's new look and costume though.

And boy did they miss on Harbinger.
It's like they are afraid of the source material.

Personally I always found Harbinger's original look to be pretty terrible.

I've given up on pretty much ANY female superhero having a costume that:

a) looks like their comic book counterpart
b) shows ANY skin at ALL

Dressing them in burkas is probably the next step.

Those days of Lynda Carter being in that awesome bathing suit costume are long gone.

Just like Supergirl's skirt.

Peace.

I agree completely. Times and acceptable social customs always change over the generations. Live long enough, and you won't understand anything that young people are thinking, even when you try.

But it's always been this way. It was just way more fun when I was young and was part of the changes, and I was complaining about the "old farts and their outdated ideas". Now I am one of them, pining for tiny skirts and sexy costumes stretched tightly over outrageously exaggerated figures because that's how comics used to be when they were great (IMHO).

Imagine how much it would suck to live forever.

While it would have been nice to see her in crossover, I'm guessing there were probably any number of factors as to why she wasn't asked.

Cost, scheduling, or maybe the CW didn't want Melissa as Supergirl being overshadowed.

She has been on Supergirl the show (as Brainiac in season 1 if i remember right), so I'm guessing its a conscious decision, rather then an oversight.

Additionally, the cast for the crossover seems enormous as it is, so maybe that was a consideration also.

Would be fun if she does make an appearance and they are keeping it under wraps :P

Just my 2 cents.

Peace.

Laura dressed in a traditional SG costume standing next to Melissa in her new body-suit would be radical. Melissa has an interesting personality, but Laura was born to play a Kryptonian.

Shame we won't get to see her. I mean, how do you beat this?

It's a shame Vandervoort was not invited to join in the Crisis story line. Maybe there was no room for her in the story - fine - but I'd like to know if the writer's considered her and what their reasons were for not including her if they did consider her. I have my own prejudices I'm trying to manage. She looks fantastic today (just check out her Instagram) and would be great with a "S" on her chest ( www.deviantart.com/artofsw/art/Supergirl...andervoort-252427615 ) skirt or no skirt. However, maybe that worked against her as some have suggested.

I've enjoyed the first two episodes of SG this season well enough as a "waste of time/watch the NASCAR wreck" show. I will say it's like watching "some other" superhero - not "my" Supergirl or even Superwoman. Nothing absurdly preachy yet. The plot holes are still gaping chasms - but it's a hero show - whatever. Dreamer is worthless. Brainy is wasted. Guardian is/was back. There has been some retread on themes and acting - but it's season 5.

I've not watched Batwoman - I'm also a Batman universe fan - but I'll pass.except for maybe on Crisis night.

As far as the new outfit: First I just have to say: Long live the skirt! As Shadar has alluded to - this show just wasn't meant for me. I feel like a broken record but I could actually handle the new suit if it wasn't for the even *more* muted S/ and the bangs. What burns me the most was being fed the early line that the suit was because Melissa was cold. I call complete and utter bull. One: She's still cold - as seen my the heavy jackets in on set photos and two articles that have come out with first person interviews: www.themarysue.com/supergirl-new-costume-bangs/ www.insider.com/cw-supergirl-costume-des...nts-interview-2019-9

Melissa wanted a "sophisticated" supergirl? Maybe she should look up the definition. However, we've sure got a sophisticated sophisticant of a Supergirl.

In a distressing to me trend and commentary on society worldwide villains continue to carry shows and movies. In this case the Luthor family caries Supergirl and gets the best writing, story, and presence.

[Edit] I'll also say in an attempt to maybe make this show for everyone they've made it for almost no one (even by CW standards) and the ratings are showing it. tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/supergirl-season-five-ratings/ Batwoman is doing even worse for a new/fresh show. Will it even make it to/past Crisis!

I have no idea what CW is up to, but it doesn't seem to work re: Supergirl.

I thought at first it was because I was too damn old, but I've ALWAYS been a fan of superheroiines, now as much as when I was a kid, with DC characters more than Marvel, and Supergirl most of all. So why would a Supergirl show be in Season 5 which always always irritates me and rarely pleases me, and only the Luthors delight me? That makes no sense, generational sensitivities or not.

I mean, I truly enjoyed the WW movie, so I'm not off in some odd corner of fandom.

It breaks my heart the way they are squandering opportunities to bring one of the great comic book heroines to life

The only way I can enjoy the show these last few seasons is to lose myself in the terrible degenerate splendor of the Luthors, and root for them. I do believe that the scripting and characterization for the Luthor family is the best that has ever made it to the big or small screen. That's something.

I say, keep it honest and rename the show The Luthors and it would make perfect sense. The strongly-drawn Luthor characters and a bunch of flawed good guys surrounding them to make it dramatic. Make a minor tweak where the Luthors win the battle of good and evil, and the show could be great fun.

There were several depictions in previous work where Supergirl was aligned with the Luthors, one way or another. We had Laura V/Kara working as Lex's bodyguard when he was President in Smallville. We had Mae/Supergirl in a romantic and business relationship with Luthor in the books. Both those depictions were fun. Not to mention the Elseworlds issue I've attached an image from below. I wouldn't mind seeing another take on that, given we aren't going to see a true Supergirl show.

Maybe in this day and age the Luthors are a stronger message anyway.

Here's Kara, arriving with the limo containing her boss, Lex Luthor.

Batwoman did worse in the 18-49 target demographic than Supergirl (they were the two worst shows in that regard on Sunday night), but Batwoman got 1.46 million overall viewers against Siupergirl's 0.97.

Which says Batwoman is stronger in either the under 18 or the over 49 segments.

In any case, both are very weak, whether that's the show or the competition.

Heck... Bob's Burgers had more viewers than either. Bob's Burgers?

That is actually a fantastic gut check that I/we are not completely off our rockers and something really is weird about it all... ...I mean I'm a border line millennial for crying out loud I'm only half dust.
