This last Adventures of Superman episode gave us our first look at a live action Super Lois, who had previously appeared only in comic magazines. In this episode, during a dream sequence (natch!) a mad scientist (is there any other kind?) gives Jimmy and Lois "positive kryptonite" pills, which gives them superpowers. Lois uses her powers to unbend an iron bar, fly through the air, uses x-ray vision and superhearing, and kicks down a huge warehouse door. Okay, so she doesn't wear or do anything "suggestive", this was the nineteen fifties, after all!, but I still hold a warm place in my heart for this episode of The Adventures of Superman.
I completely agree about the 1950 Adventures of Superman. I'd love to see a Supergirl series done in just the same style. George Reeves had just the right style of personality. The perfect Supergirl would have that same persona of total confidence and invulnerability.
