I've actually read a couple of cghapters and I think this is pretty good manga. The main character is clearly an intentional Mary-Sue and the author is actually deconstructing this kind of character, which is really cool to see.
Check it out it's really worth.

Quick question: What do you consider more impressive/faster. Moving so fast you can't be seen or moving so fast you create illusions of yourself?

Some info on the upcoming anime:
The anime will be 45 episodes long and the first episode is scheduled to air next week on wednesday (april 4th)
The anime is made by Gainax. The same studio that made Gurren Lagann and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Hopefully some fansub group will pick it up early. And lets just pray that they don't decide to depower Medaka.

Thought question. Thinking in terms of real world physics I think that invisibility is a lot faster. The fastest creature on Earth is the hummingbird whose wings beat at speed of 20-80 beats per second, so fast that it's almost impossible for a human being to see them, by comparison the speed needed to produce a residual image is much lower. Still a fully defined residual image means that the object has only slowed down for a fraction of a second from the "invisibility threshold"

Kinda reminds me of that scene in Superman 2 where General Zod does the same thing.

Makes me wonder if she makes the students at her school kneel before her? I know I've got a serious urge to kneel before her and um—never mind, I've said too much so—um, yeah— :whistle:

No bowing. She's not evil. She is however very pushy and doesn't hesitate to force the students to go along with her whims using her powers. For their own good of course. At least in her eyes.

Granted there's always a throw away thuggish student or two that doesn't quite grasp that she's borderline invincible. She usually puts them in their place.

First episode of the Medaka Box anime is out and subbed. It skipped chapter 0 and went directly for chapter 1 and it followed it pretty well. The animation was fluid and looked damn good IMO.

Not sure how we see on the linking of torrents on this site but if anyone wants it, I can link it in PM or if the admin allows it I'll link it here. And I'll do the same for every episode. Maybe in a separate thread?

She also freaks out a delinquent guy by grabbing the wood training sword he's threatening her with so fast he can't percieve the movement. And when he calls his buddies in to gang up on her, she superspeeds around them, taking all the packs of cigarettes (cause their delinquents you know) from their pockets and coming to a stop with them perfectly balanced, again while the guys can barely see her move. This leaves multiple scorch trails on the floor.

She also has a somewhat rough form of Japanese speech that implies the person she's talking to is hopelessly inferior to her.

Sorry, the only thing of note after the first episode is that she makes some tea boil with her body temperature. But it's soon time for the school building pull. Maybe in 2 or 3 episodes.

The latest episode (#9) had the super speed scene, where she runs so fast she creates illusions. It has some other stuff as well, like crushing steel chains with her hands.
#8 also had a scene where she shatters a metal bat with a kick.

Next episode will probably have the building pull

Im reading the comic and am now at Chapter 61 (each one has 20 pages) and not much SS yet unfortunately, otherwise I would have posted it. Its mostly her friends fighting and even if she is clearly superior to everyone else, she does nothing particulary worth mentioning. But the story is quite entertaining, so I keep on reading (but slowly, since its that much :o ) and if there are any notable scenes other then the ones already posted, i`ll post screens here.

Finally this week we had the building pull. Though she didn't pull the building as much as rip it apart

Last weeks ep was really chatty and we only got to see Medaka punch a guy through the school.
