SGI Workshop 1.4: Ready? Begin!!!

OK, to the victor goes the spoils so Marknew is credited (blamed) with coming up with this next Workshop Theme that centers around the following event:

The origin of an ubergirl that makes someone else sorely upset

As Marknew said, it doesn't matter how. It can be by "draining" a superhero, a magic formula or alien infusion of power or even some other means. She can use her powers for good or evil or in between. Or perhaps not use them at all. (Now that would be different!) It can be by her design or completely by accident. She may welcome it, be unhappy about it or completely indifferent. But what's important is that someone else (hopefully but not necessarily male) feels terribly wronged (rightly or wrongly) that SHE got the powers.

Personally I think this is a great theme that should provide broad appeal and complexity to any of the normal and/or budding writers in the genre.

Besides the centralized theme, everyone has pretty much carte blanche, with the standard "no rape or under 17 characters" generally applying. Any questions, feel free to email me.

Deadline is June 30th (providing this forum still exists then :P), so it's not too far around the corner! Get goin!

Again, thanks and congrats to the 1.3 workshop authors (esp. Marknew) for a job well done!

Cheers
LF

Let's just hope that this latest task does not further delay DKC in getting out the next chaper of "The Project". Some of us are DYING out here!

So I take it you'll be nominating "The Project" by DKC for best multipart story/saga in the SWiMmies forum, then.

I already did. I went back and read Marknew's "Jilly Milly"
last night and it was a very tough call between them.

I would say that Marknew is the master, but there are several up and comming challengers of which I think DKC just may be the number one
contender (in my book at least).

I agree, Ace. Two great stories (Jilly Milly and The Project) and two great story-tellers (MarkNew and DKC)

I'm in, but I've taken on a couple other tasks (well, fun tasks, or I wouldn't have done it). My mind isn't quite focused on writing stories right now, but I'll have a submission (hopefully two, but dunno) for the deadline.

I'm in. Story is nearly done, but glad to have a few more weeks to make the situation even more infuriating for the sore loser.

Well, the Atalanta story I planned to enter in the last workshop is still in the drawer ... but yeah, I'm in. My entry will be a story I promised Larafan in exchange for "Zupergirl 2" ... which by the way, Lf, how's it coming along?

Count me in as well.....as for how Zupergirls 2 is going, I'm trying to retread it fit in the theme of the workshop. I think it'll work out nicely! Stay tuned Argo (and everyone else)

Exams over, final assignments handed in, free to devote some time to writing. Finished Chapter 1, having fun with Chapter 2, story should be in by the deadline.

Nice visual ... Thanks for keeping us posted on Conceptfan's recovery!

I'm nowhere near as blue as that, Argo, but I admit the lack of a discernable neck and head is uncannily accurate...

BTW, my story's also coming along nicely. Well over half-way there, I'd say.

I just might be able to finish a story by the deadline... hopefully. Are we allowed to incorporate any pictures into it? I know the text formatting is pretty strict for the storybank, but perhaps we can post a seperate illustrated version, if you will?

Yeah, I just couldn't get the energy to get a story written for this workshop. I've got another couple ideas for the folder of ideas in my desk, but nothing finished. Sorry, y'all.
