Thanks, BW! I love the Phipps drawing -- the Maid of Steel in a pose traditionally associated with Superman. You can't beat the classics! And Mindy Marvel "taking out the trash" looks exquisite, thanks to the ever-reliable TGK (and Lfan's colors don't hurt, either).
I hope someday you're inspired to write another Mindy Marvel tale for the StoryBank ...

See a scan of the original drawing AND a version coloured by our very own Lfan in the SWM ImageBank.

If you're curious -- That's "Dumb Bunny." She was a member of a team of inept super-heroes called the Inferior Five, who had their own comic book for a while back in the 1960's. She was very strong and very, uh, blonde -- not a very PC concept, but this was the Silver Age!
Can anyone (besides Lfan) identify the inspiration for the gag?

Maybe this weekend I will get off my rear in honor of Super Lana on
Smallville and scan in the ultimate Super Pig (and Piglet) story
from Jimmy Olson #67 "Super Lucy Lane".
I have already done the hard part. I dug through my collection and found it!

You mean the fact that she kicked in a door marked "pull".
Yes.

Oh, yeah, I remember that one.

Hope to see it posted at the ImageBank soon!
Do you have "The Girl Who Was Mightier Than Superman" (from Superman #180)? That's the story that kick-started my interest in this genre. Definitely worth posting!

In case anyone's curious -- One of my favorite "Far Side" cartoons shows a pudgy, bespectacled kid pushing determinedly at the front door of a "School for the Gifted." A large sign on the door says "PULL." It makes me laugh every time I think of it -- which is whenever I do the same thing myself!
It came to mind when I was trying to come up with a gag for a Dumb Bunny commission.
I loved "The Far Side." That, and "Calvin and Hobbes."
