Daz3d/Marvelous Designer Animation

Hi everyone.

Here's my first attempt at a solid render in Daz3D. The cloth animation was performed using Marvelous Designer 5. I love the image of a sexy superpowered woman soaring through the air, with the wind billowing through her costume!

What do you think?

Nice job :)

Love the flowing cloth :) I use Poser a lot (prefer it to Daz Studio, though the recent models work much easier in that) and will have to look into Marvelous Designer.

Peace.

Very cool. Tip of the iceberg. I love my super women to have the power of flight as one of the top three powers that all superwomen should have.

My only minor complaint is that the skirt is too long. Lets see those sexy gams.

Very nice!!! How long does it take to render a scene like that roughly?

Good first effort:

Things to improve

*Background could move to indicate sence of speed-as is she doesn't look so much as flying but kinda hovering.

*A little camera movement can do a lot to sell something., like have it lean a little to the left or right, or jostle a little as if the wind is hitting it. dolly stuff can also be fun.

* If your hyper having fun you can play a litte with subtle movements-have fingers twitch a little more.

but good effort. good good efort. like that your working here.

The cloth simulation takes about a half-hour to an hour to complete, depending on the mesh density. The rendering in Daz3D can take anywhere between 30 minutes to several hours, depending on your render settings. Using a good mid-range ray trace took it a couple of hours for me. So all in all, not terribly bad. The real pain in the rear is getting your simulations in place. There's also a huge learning curve in getting Marvelous Designer to talk properly with Daz3D.

Great ideas. I'll try that out next time!

Also, does anyone have any good tutorials/tips/links for creating a decent sky-dome? The one I'm using is kind of a sloppy cheat.

Hi Everyone,

I think I'm starting to really get the hang of this workflow in Daz3d. Here is my personal heroine showing us the power of her superbreath. :)

Not bad, the facial animation works, my only doubt is the physics of the cape, it looks a tad too fluttery. Given that she's blowing forward I think it should a be a lot more still.

I actually really like the fluttering. What do you think it should do differently? Blow harder? Or blow forward? I may do another one soon, so I'm interested in thoughts.

I think that the flutterng should be less accentuated since the main force of the stream is directed away from the cape. It's possible to have a little fluttering to emphasize the strength of the gale, but it should be more subtle especially toward the shoulder since the "clipping" of the cape shoudl prevent some of the movement.

It's moving in the wrong direction. Her skirt and cape should be more conforming on her back, and looser in front, with fluttering taking place on the front material of both. She's blowing the super wind from her mouth, but the surrounding air will move in that direction, with lesser force.

Very fun. Wish I had the talent for that animating.

Would like a shorter skirt.

She seems to be a bad girl.

I will say all of the 70s footage is hillarious and funny, but to really something like this you don't just need her in the shot but the things shes effecting-the people the cars all of it-thats what really sells an effect like that if there in the same hsot together at least a little bit.

Yeah, I'm working my way up to that. Still getting a handle on the various effects and how to mix them together better. I appreciate all the tips. :)

If you need horsepower maybe you could share the files and have others render.

One trick for encorpating video and well anything else is to use alpha channels- or just a green screen. its a synch to remove in editing, if you use your animation instead of on a background va green background.

Pretty neat and very well done, the only issue i can see is that in the begging of the video Scarlet looks like shes flying kinda slowly, but at the end looks fine.

There actually is a reason for that. When an object is flying away from something especially for the kinda following camera angle..it tends to look kinda slow unless you make it ridiculsly over fast (the speed of any airborne object tends to looks slower then on the ground but that in particular type of shot is very hard to sell the sence of speed, with out making it really obvious.

That said this is a geat video. love the city effects and really like the very subtle way she looks like shes flapping her arms. thats just seems like a really nice touch which is something a flying person would kinda do.
