"You want a peice of me bitch? Well here I am!"
Angela put her hands under a dumpster beside her and hoisted into the air over her head with a grunt of effort. She turned toward the brat at the mouth of the alley and prepared to throw it as fast as she could. Her efforts were stymied by the appearance of a new figure landing on top of a fire escape. He was dressed in a black suit and had hidden his eyes behind a large pair of dark glasses. As Angela pulled back to throw he launched a blast of green energy from his hand that slammed into the dumpster and knocked it out of Angela's hands.
"Leave this to me, Young One," the older man intoned with what could be mistaken for someone with too high a voice doing a Batman impersonation. "Get yourself to safety!" So saying, the new arrival hopped over the railing and used his green energy to float down safely to place himself between Star and Angela.
"Who the f&%k are you?" Angela demanded. "How many of you weirdos are there?"
The man answered by extending both hands and sending her rolling down the alley.
"I'm Blaster. And there's only one weirdo I can see."
Angela tumbled helplessly as the force of the beams carried her down the alley. This was getting ridiculous! She reached the end of the building and rolled in behind it to get a break. That had hurt. She wasn't going to let him get her like that again. Angela grabbed some bags of trash from beside a nearby doorway and hid there. She didn't have to wait long for Blaster to come running around the corner. As she hoped, he didn't see her. Just as he passed by she leapt out and tackled him. He lit himself up with a green energy shield, but it was too late...she had touched him.
Though she was thrown off by the energy shield, Angela could still feel his life force entering her body. It was quite different than she had expected, as though it were more concentrated and far more potent than anyone else's that she had stolen so far.
"Oh Blaster! Mmmm...that feels really good!"
He rapidly turned pale as the thin mist of his energy draining out of him became a thick smoke. Angela stood before him holding out a hand into which the smoke of his essence flowed. Just before he blacked out he looked up at her to see an evil smile on her face.
"How does it feel to be a hero?" she asked him, kicking him to the ground with her foot.
Angela felt different. She could feel something inside her, something new...something powerful. She held up her tingling hands and looked at them.
"I wonder..."
Holding a palm out toward the opposite wall Angela instinctively launched a beam of green energy into it. Grinning, she did it again.
"Oh my!"
Concerned that she was practically naked now, Angela looked around for the young upstart that had made what should have been her perfect day fall short of that.

Rae watched the display.

This wasn't good.

Nope.

Not good at all. What could go wrong..

She was now packing heat.

She hid however behind the trash dumpster that seemed to be forgoteen. and thought of a clever scheme...none where forfthcoming.

Angela stepped confidently back around the corner, but didn't see any sign of the girl.
Looking down at herself she noticed two things simultaneously. She had to get new clothes, and her body was astoundingly developed. Seeing the faint outline of abs on her stomach made her smile. She'd never been very fit. Now, and through no real effort on her part, she was super-fit.
Not allowing herself to admire her new body for too long, Angela moved on as fast as she could to her intended goal: The local gym. Rather than show concern as people stood shocked at the sight of her, Angeal smiled warmly at her victims and quickly allieviated any concerns thay may have had about her appearance. Before she entered the gym she added another nine people to growing tally.
"Um...I'm sorry miss, but you cannot come in here dressed like that."
Angela smiled at the young and rather large male receptionist.
"I've had one hell of a morning!" Angela explained. "I was just going to go into your merchandise department and pick up an outfit."
"Um...okay. But I'll need to see some sort of proof of membership."
"That's a shame. I was hoping to be a little more subtle." Angela reached out and touched the hand he had placed on the counter. He turned pale and fell over. Angela hugged herself as his energy flowing into her. It wasn't as potent as Blaster's, but it was still more potent than most of the people she had claimed so far. Yes, she thought, coming to the gym had been a very good idea. Angela left the man there, and went into the small alcove where the gym sold its workout gear. She picked out a small but simple lyrca outfit, a two-piece set that would let her show off her improved abs. The attendant asked the question of cash or charge, and Angela answered by taking the man's considerable strength and vitality. She sat him in a nearby seat and leant him over as though he were sleeping. Seeing that he now looked like a man in his nineties, most people would just assume he was an old man having a nap. Making sure no-one was watching, Angela sat the receptionist next to him.
Looking into the vast wortout area and it's myriad of machines, Angela was extremely pleased to see how many people were here today. This was one of the best gyms in Cape Hope and boasted several top bodybuilding competitors as clientelle. Hoping that a few of them were in today, Angela smiled and went in.

Star sighed. Watching the woman go past.

Okay what next what next. She sighed and shook her head. She looked at her face. Rae had worked half her life in a grocery store. It was an old saw, don't shop when your hungry.

This woman was very hungry.

And a gym.

It was an all fucking you can eat buffet.

But it was slightly sad still. She thought not for the first time in this crazy-half hour, hour?- this woman had the look of someone who would never be satisfed, always be hungry. There was a raging monster inside of her a peice of the void sucking out life....how to fill it up...

when rae turned ehr head back to the opening of the alleyand saw what looked to be 20 solders with machine guns.

She raised her arms.

**********

10 minutes latter Star had her masked pulled up her hands in hand cuffs(not that it would do much as there where still hand cuff chinks from last time) and thankfully was talking to someone. His name was Frank Allen, and he was a detective-and seemingly a pretty reasonable one. There where miltary viecleles from the national guard, police-well....

"so you two have been fighting for the last hour up and down the westside?"

"I am th good one." said star "The one trying to help you..though admitidly most of the witnesses to that are dead. Not really effectivly helping...but its one of those days"

"Right" said allen. he took a pair of keys and uncuffed her.

"What are you doing?" said star.

"Well that obviously wasn't going to do much but you where standing patiently so thats a good sign"

"look..i don't know a lot about her...she was just starting to...well she can drain people of there life. shes like a vampire. except not as sparkly. But she used to be an old women...i saw her on trenton street...thats where it started, maybe you can find more info"

"Murphy, Angela Murphy" said Allen "We have been getting a picture...just who are you?"

"The Star" said the the star.

Allen turned around

"Chang, Rae Chang, i am A student at the university"

Well the secret identiy didn't last long did it?

"i just kind of well...i am the good version of her i guess. i can't steal life but i can do things, and i have been trying but....i don't know..i guess i am a superhero..but i will admit it, charge me if you want, arrest me-but you got to stop her. Maybe gas of some kind.. she looks like she went in the gym...just stop her from killing more people"

The place was abuzz with activity, and while a few heads turned to see the new arrival no one's eyes dwelt for too long. In this place everyone was beautifully built. Catching a glimpse of herself in the mirror wall long mirror, Angela noticed she was still walking like an old lady. She took a moment to straighten herself up and thought about how she should proceed. Was there any point in being sneaky? She could feel her strength, all that stolen potency pumping through her veins. She could just start draining people, and there was very little any of them could do to stop her. But thinking about it, she realised that everyone would know soon enough. And when they did find out what terrible fate awaited them this day there would be plenty of chaos. Why rush?
Reaching the big group of steroid fueled pump junkies, Angela offered them a smile.
"Hello."
"Hi there, little lady," the closest man greeted her, eyeing up and down in a blantant assessment.
"I'm kind of new here. Can one of you fine gentlemen show a lady around?"
"Well, we're kinda busy," another hulking fellow informed her. His tone was all business.
"Oh?"
"Allow me," the man who had spoken first offered, placing a hand on her shoulder and turning her toward to the long row of machines behind them. "I'll be back in a while fellas."
The others shook their heads at him while Angela tried not to drain too much. She found it quite easy to stop the absorption, relieved that she could have a little fun. As she was escorted past the gathered bodybuilders, Angela 'accidently' brushed any who were conveniently close enough. She could feel a connection, and realised she might be able to tag most, if not all, of the people unfortunate enough to be working out today.
The man took her around the gym and showed her where everything was. He had obviously done this before, because he was spewing information like a tour guide. Angela was busy sneakily touching as many people as she could. It only required the slightest touch.
"So...do you want to warm up?"
"I want to use that one," Angela informed him, pointing to where several bulky blokes she had not yet tagged were using curl machines.
"Sure," he shrugged, leading the way. "What do you want me to set it on?" he asked.
Angela thought about that. She was far too strong to show him anything close to what she was really capable of without raising suspicion. But then...she had tagged half the room already, and he'd be dead soon anyway. For some reason, the idea of showing off her physical power in front of this obvious gym junky gave her quite a thrill.
"How about halfway?"
"Um...you have done this before right?"
"Well...no."
"Seriously? You expect me to believe that? With that body you've got? Alright, girl. I'll play along."
Nobody had called her a girl in so long that he'd made her smile. "Thank you."
Angela took a very poor position on the machine, looking a little awkward as she prepared to do the lift. The man watching was obviously amused. But his smile vanished as the weights smoothly lifted, and went back down with a clang. She started doing it over and over, much to the astonishment of those watching. She smiled at them as she let go of the machine. Having watched her guide set the weight, she reached over and maxed it out. Then she started to do her incorrect curls again, just as fast.
"How is this supposed to be any good for you?" she asked.
"It pumps the bloods through...hey! What kind of game is this?"
Angela smiled. She had waited as long as she possible could. It was time to get started.
"You know...I think I can feel it working!"
As she curled the weight, Angela started to slowly sip from the people she had tagged. Her head started to spin. Taking so many at once, and all of them so healthy and strong, far eclipsed the rush she had gotten from Blaster. And the massive dose of life force showed physically as every muscle in her body increased in size and density. "Wow! This feels great!"
The man fell to his knees, and cries of distress went up all around the gym. His eyes widened at her increasing size, and then he noticed his shrinking body.
"You're...stealing my muscles," he whimpered.
"Don't be ridiculous," she chided. "I'm just working out is all!"
Confusion reigned. Then one of the big guys on the curling machine noticed what was happening to Angela as she arched her back and moaned in pleasure.
"It's her! That bitch over there!"
Angela snapped to reality quick smart, and glowered at the untapped source of power who dared to insult her. Still curling away at the same pace she let go of the machine with one hand and rasied her palm to the rude man. She underestimated her increasing power, and the blast she sent at him knocked him flying. He lay on the floor, smoke rising from his charred body. Angela was just as surprised as everyone else. But the drawback to her angry murder was twofold. She wasted a potential 'meal', and caused all those who were able to rush for the door.

Meanwhile Star waited outside with the police and the army-and learned one of the problems of the police and army. They could be pretty slow sometimes to act. It was rare for them to move from-we have a dangerious person in this building - "we go into this building" in less then an hour. Often more. She talked to a swat guy. Yeah when they raided someones house for unpaid parking tickets that usually took a better part of a day to plan.

At one level that made sence. Don't make anything worse. At one level the police certainly wheren;t invulnernable. Maybe the world needed superheros in situtions like this. And by superheros she meant iddiots.

They had tried taking her head on...and

But Star withered.

Allen put a hand on your shoulder "Your very brave Chang ....or should i call you Star?"

"Star"

"Whatever. your brave got to give you that but leave this to the professionals"

Star looked back and gave his hand a friendly squeeze. "I am here to help you"

"And you did. i suspect without distraction she whould have killed 3 times as many people by now

"One is to many" said star

"Right." said Allen sympathetically "Right"

he paused "let me tell you something about life out here. Life on the street. you see stuff. Now i never saw a woman steal the life force from bodybuilding women to gain superpowers-but i seen...i seen a lot of stuff. Parents killed by there kids. Drugs-drugs can do worse stuff to you the death. Prostittues a lot younger then you..i seen stuff. I don't know what comicbook you come from....this world is shit. And she is just part of it"

the strategy was devoloping. Empty the building put enough knockout gas to level an elephant. However that needed approval up the chain of command, as knockout gas had a non 0 chamce of killing or permently injuring people. Which made sence.

however as people fleed out of the building.....she wondered if lunch wasn't to short.

I had planned to do a lot more on this over the weekend, but I'm headed out bush. So if I go all quiet for a few days, don't worry...I've just gone off the reservation for a little while. If I find any passenger planes while I'm out there I'll be sure to let someone know...

Only four or five people had managed to escape before Amanda made it to the door. Unaware they doomed themseles in the attempt, several large guys and one of the bigger girls tried to barge Amanda from their path, but she only smiled at them as they bounced off her strong body. A few even took hold of her and tried to grapple her out of the way, only to discover their strength abandoning them. She even let them give it their best shot before sucking them dry, thoroughly amused by their feeble efforts. They were for the most part larger than her. Noticing two fire escapes that people were making use of, Amanda dragged a very heavy machine across the exit she's been gaurding, and quickly sealed off the other escape routes.
Amanda stood before the survivors, her muscles now clearly defined, and obviously strong.
"Well?" she demanded, putting her hands arrogantly on her hips. "Are you just gonna stand there while I suck the life out of all of you?"
She heard a heavy step behind her and turned to see something she hadn't expected. One of the smaller men in the gym had snuck up behind her with a bench-press machine over his head. He brought it down on her head just as she turned. It hurt considerably, and left her half buried in the floor.
"Not another one!" she groaned, shoving the machine off her and getting to her feet.
"Make a move and I'll kill you!" the small man warned, sounding quite serious.
"What did you just try to do?" Amanda asked, gesturing at the machine. She moved toward him, and he grabbed hold of a loaded weight bar and swung it directly at her face. Amanded managed to block it with her forearm. She grabbed it and tried to pull it out of his hands.
"You might be strong, princess...but you've got nothing on me!"
The power of her own grip betrayed her as the man turned and launched her at the wall. She burst through the concrete into a shower room, and squealed to an awkward halt on the non slip tiles. It hurt like hell, but she got up. Where the hell were all these weirdos coming from? How many of them were there? She stood and dusted herself off. If she had been wounded she had healed, and she didn't feel all that weaker for it. Dodging the loaded barbell as it speared past her, Angela growled and ran him. He didn't know to dodge, that all she wanted to do was get in contact with his skin. So he steeled himself and caught hold of her she came toward him.
Angela drank greedily, surprised by the intoxicating level of evergy he gave her. Blaster had given her biggest rush so far, but this was on a whole new level.
Grappling with her, the man felt a little woozey. Realising something was wrong, he tore himself free and flung her away. It was quite easy, but not quite as easy as it should have been. But though the apparently arounsed woman was now on the other side of the room, she continued to writhe and moan. The man blinked a few times and tried to shake off the odd feeing without success.
"What have you done to me?"
"Mmmm...you have no idea how good this feels!" she told him, accelerating the process as much as could. The misty connection between them thickened until it looked solid. Amanda was simply astonished at how long it seemed to take. It seemed that he had an ocean were everyone else in the gym had a duck pond. "Wow! You're really strong! Well...that is to say, you were."
Getting it together enough to stand up, Angela stretched her gently inflating frame.
"You're a fiend!" he declared. He grabbed another barbell and swung it at her head. Fully aware that she was at least ten times stronger than before she had tapped into this strong man she let him hit her. She allowed him to spend his last moments on Earth trying to kill her without bothering to stop him. The first two hits stung a little, but she could hide the pain and it didn't knock her head about too much. After that the barbell just bounced off, as his strength waned and hers grew ever greater. As he began to whither she took him by the throat in one hand hand and lifted him up. Her touch accelerated the process and he could clearly see her muscles strengthening and hardening right in front of his eyes. She smiled at him.
"That's right, little fella. I just stole all your strength." She watched the life fade from his eyes, and dropped him negligently to the floor.

Snipper Fire hit the window at the opening of the gym as it saw angela in place--....

thats just it Snipper Fire hit the door to the window of the gym as they watcher her kill more people.

Unofrutnitly what they didn't know was that six month before there had been a drive by shooting of the gym outside the gym which had cause the manangment to invest in much heavyer windows for the front of the building- so when about 6 bullet lodged in the windows told by a commander to take the shot, they all lodged harmlessly in the glass as about hundred cops stood outside, hoping they could stop her. It wouldn't have stoped a normal foe.

Angela stared for a moment at her reflection. She was not the same woman who had gotten out of bed this morning. Her body was not simply revitalised...it was powerful. Immensely powerful. She could feel it...she could actually feel how her last victim had drastically altered her muscles. He had been strong despite his diminutive size. Rather than shrink due to the now enhanced efficiency of her body, her muscles retained their size and shape...and were that much stronger for it.
A few people were now attempting to move the machine she had used to block the entrance. Angela strode up behind them and picked the biggest up by the back of the neck. He was, for the time being, a huge man. She waved him about, testing his weight, and found it far too easy. It was though he were made of hollow polystyrene. As she shrank him, discarding him afterward, Angela realised that compared to other people who had special powers, normal people could no longer give her the tremendous rush she was looking for.
But she took the rest anyway. Enjoying her new strength she tore her way through the gym in a flash, knocking aside any equipment unfortunate enough to be in her path aside as if weren't there. Once she had tapped everyone who was left, Angela drew upon them all at once. It felt good...really good...but not great.
Only once her hunt was complete, and Angela stood half an inch taller with much thicker muscles all over her body, did she notice the force gathering outside.
"Damn it!" she cursed. "How did they get here so damn fast?"
Then she considered how long she had been here, and realised they'd had plenty of time to set up their little blockade outside the gym. Especially considering that the girl who had caused her so much trouble stood among them. Flexing her new improved physique, Angela started to think how easily she could break out through the back. Even if there wasn't a door, bricks would not stop her now. But even as the thought of how easy it would be to destroy brickwork and effect an escape, it occured to Angela that she didn't need to run. With ease that excited her she hoised a large machine, weight and all. It was like holding a balloon. Bring her hands closer together she listened with pride as the steel groaned. Despite it's protests, the metal bars offered very little physical challenge to her now clearly supercharged muscles. Dropping the equipment with a huge crash, she walked toward the front of the building. Putting her hands on her hips, Angela strode straight through three glass walls and the counter. Angela Murphy no longer needed doors. Deliberately avoiding the glass panes of the gym's shopfront windows, she used her breasts as battering rams to casually tear through the heavy masonry. At least a hundred guns were instantly trained on her.
Angela realised that despite the meddlesome girl, all the firepower, and their vastly superior numbers, the coming fight was going to be a total white wash. She was at least ten times stronger than all of them combined, and if bullets couldn't really hurt her before, they would be completely useless against her now.
"Kneel before me!" she commanded. "Kneel before me and I will spare your lives."
Part of her really did want them to fall at her feet. But a larger part of her wanted them to resist.

Awe.

Cops are hardened people. They go through intense training for nearly a year, then spend the rest of there career seeingsometimes the worst of humanity-its not as bad as one may think-stats suggests that most cops never actually firet here guns in 20 years, and many never see a dead body-but the raw humanity. .

National Gaurdsmen are the same. Many of them where veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan war. They had seen combat, and destruction and terror, and had gone out the other end.

Both groups had that great equalizer, that great little protection of there hand. The things that give men power, the things that make men brave. Guns. Lots of guns. At this point hundreds of guns power to destroy anything.

But for a minute- a long minute, nothing happened. Nothing. They just watched the by now goddess like woman walk out. All traces of her ages, almost all of her former humanity where gone. She was just fearesome perfection. She was Terrific. She inspired terror.

and they just watched her talk. to offer to spare there lives and listened.

Until one man in the back took out his gun and tried to shoot her.

then most of the rest found the courage to join him.

most of them.

Rae in the back leaned down on the ground and hid.

For several heartbeats after she offered the gathered force their lives, Angela thought she may have been a little hasty. No one spoke. No one moved. For a fleeting moment she thought they were going to take up her offer. But then someone took a shot, hitting her in the chest. If not for the gunshot sounding off, she might not have noticed. The bullet thudded into her flesh, but failed to so much as bruise her before it fell to the pavement. If someone were to ask her, she would have had trouble expressing how much of a thrill it gave when she realised she could now take direct hits from bullets without having to spend her valuable energy reserves to heal. This fact was demonstrated beyond any doubt as the street become filled with the deafening sounds of gunfire. Angela looked down and watched the bullets slowly strip away her new outfit, leaving her now youthful and vibrant skin unblemished. Angela Murphy started to laugh.
"Is that all you've got? she asked, though no one could really hear her. "Let me show you what I've got."
She reached out with both hands and released dazzling blasts of green energy that surprised and terrified her attackers. In moments the area was reduced to a charred ruin, and all the guns were silenced. Angela was actually a little disappointed with how easy it was.
As she smiled upon her deadly work a National Guardsman popped up from behind a vehicle and resumed shooting. Angela walked toward the vehicle he hid behind, and placed her hand on the cold metal. With a quick push she sent the car sliding violently across the street, taking the doomed guardsman with it. It hit the gutter on the opposite of the road, flipped and hit the building beyond about three metres in the air.
Angela glowed with pride as she kicked an empty army truck and watched it fly away, breaking apart from the incredible force she so easily brought to bear. She was ready for the meddlesome brat now.
"Okay bitch! Stop hiding! Come to me and I'll make it quick! If I have to come looking for you, you'll regret it!"

And then there was silence.

No mater how loud the noise may have been, how much they had fought and died, after less 20 seconds of death and destricution it was over. The kind of quiet that one doesn't usually hear.

Rae heard it.

She was hidding.

Hididng like a coward, hididng like a fool.

her super powers let her hide underneat the bottom of a police car. Her super powers let her control to a degree her breath, her heartbeat, let it calm it to make as little noise as possible.

Except the little voice inside her head calling herself a coward, calling her a fool.

It was smart. This Angela woman clearly was to powerful for her at this point-a humbling sensation.

But well... if she knew Angela-and she somehow felt as if she knew her her whole life now- she would get distracted by some other juicy morsel and walk away-maybe if she was lucky she thought she would have died in the blast. Maybe.

And then......well...and then.

Angela did regret killing all those men. Not because she was remorseful, but because she could have better used their lives o make herself stronger. But then, if she had come across three superpowered humans in the short time since her own abilities had developed, then surely there must be many more, and if that were true then she didn't really need to suck the life out of the whole population. She could get all the power she needed from the freaks.
Seeing no sign of the girl now, Angela considered her next move. She went back into the gym and picked out new clothes. As she admired herself in the mirror her plan formed. She was so much stronger already than she anticipated, and she had often pondered what she would do if she ever had power to enforce her will on others. A smile formed on her lips as she realised she could have whatever she wanted now, and she wanted control. And now nobody could stop her from seizing it.
Angela started to walk toward City Hall. After a few blocks she began to come across people, and their reactions to her large imposing frame pleased her. As strong as her body looked, she knew it was much stronger. She flagged down a passing taxi and got in.
"City Hall," she commanded imperiously.
"Sure, lady. Hey...did you hear? There's been some sort of terrorist attack just a few blocks from here."
"Really?"
As they drove the cabby offered his theories. "What's the world coming to? These poeple must be real physcos. I mean...what does it get killing so many people?" The cab pulled up at the front of City Hall. "That'll be thirteen-ninety," he informed her. He held out his open hand, and Angela took it and he almost instantly slumped into his seat. She hardly felt the benefit, but it was the most effective way to deal with him.
Angela got out of the cab and strode toward the main doors. Security guards appeared from everywhere, her descirption having been put out to law enforcers all over the city.
"Hold it right there! You're under arrest!"
"I don't have time for this."
Angela reached behind her and grabbed the taxi in a metal crunching hold. Her new strength still giving her that new-car thrill, she tossed the vehicle at the biggest group and watched them scatter as she strode slowly toward the building. An alarm sounded from inside, and Angela grinned. It wouldn't be long now before City Hall was surrounded with far more than the had pulled together at the gym. And none of it was going to do them any good...she was too powerful now to be stopped by conventional weapons, and she knew it. She would soon enforce her rule over the entire city, and there was nothing standing in her way that she could crush or feed upon.

Rae on the other hand went into a liqiur store. She was a Natty light fan. The offical beer of drunken midwestern frat guys. She was neither midwestern, a guy , or belonged to a frat but well..

she picked up a six pack, opened one.

the owner had ran away in the melle. no one was there. She looked at her spandex costume. Hey she didn't have any place for money.

she opened a beer and started to drink sitting there.

What did it fucking matter?

The world looked fucking doomed. it was all gone nothing could defeat her. Nothing. Certainly not the star. What a pathetic name. What a pathetic joke. Some hero she was.

She started to cry.

Some hero.

how long did she have-days, weeks, hours. this was lovecraftian logormthic. whould she like take over the world or just drain it of all its power. whould it be be a bang or a whimper.

And that was osmehting that got her. That was something that stuck. All of the loss of life. All of the death, the destruction, the chaos..the pain. all of it. all of it she could have stoped. Which meant all of it was her fault.

She got up. It was hopeless now. tterly hopeless.

When she looked down and felt something.

It was the 20 dollar tip earlier. for some reason it was stuck in her waist band.

She walked ot the counter and put it on the table. Well something had to be left or nothing was.

When she heard the familiar ring of the bell telling a customer was coming inside.

Angela got things started by blasting the man who dared to speak so rudely to her. They opened fire, but before they could do too much damage to her clothes she shot small blasts of energy at their guns, disarming all of them without hurting them too much. They scattered as she walked into the building.
The security doors had sealed, but rather than offering an obstacle they only offered Angela another chance to revel in her superhuman strength. The glass outer door shattered, bulletproof yet hardly immune to the pressure she easily brought to bear. The polished steel-link security shuttered were ripped apart by chest as she strode straight through into the lobby. People were running about everywhere. Those foolish enough to come within reach were consumed by the merciless intruder, but there was only one person here she really wanted to get her hands on.
Turning into the hall where banks of elevators ran along either wall she chose one of the turbo lifts, specifically the one that would take her to the mayor's office. It was locked down. She needed a passcard.
Angela would have to take the stairs. The security door, designed to be opened easily from the inside in case of fire but not so much from outside, shattered as she delivered a poorly thrown punch. Such a lengthy journey up so many stairs would have daunted her before...but not now. She started running up the inside of the building, taking three or four steps with each effortlessly powerful stride. A few guards popped out to shoot, and she ploughed through them without slowing, her powerful muscles hardly registering either the efforts of flinging them aside or the impacts of their wasted ammunition.
Reaching her desired floor, Angela placed a hand on the door and shoved it forcefully off its hinges. Stepping into a barrage of machine gun fire, Angela laughed and allowed them to strip the cloth from her hard body. Clothes were going to be an issue, she mused, enjoying their expressions as they realised the truth of the scene before them. This woman was completely immune to their gunfire. They were powerless to stop her.
Angela gloated, unconcerned by her nakedness. "Kneel before me, and I will spare your lives!"
Some did, but most kept tring to kill her. With a shrug she rushed forward and lifted two of them from the ground so easily that one dropped his weapon in shock.
"Have it your way," she told them, slamming them together with terrifying force before dropping them and reaching for more.

The woman who walked in the store, looked small. Pretty with dark brown hair and cascading blue eyes, but not particularly big-but not quite tiny enough to be impressive iether. Not particularly Bueatiful, but kinda. She did wear an odd Slightly dirty brown shirt, but not the kind of something a homeless woman whould wear either. If one where to say anything about her appearence from how she walked in, you would say "Hippie" but thats a strech.

"Hey" she said "The store open"

"No" said rae " i am just having a pitty fucking party. Its the end of the world. go home and kiss your ass good bye"

"Neat costume" Said the woman.

Rae looked down. she barely realized that yes she was wearing a superhero costume./ The red outfit looked silly. Now. Now.

"I am the beer fairy. Want a beer" said rae offering one from her pack.

"Natty Light" said the woman "ehh you could do better if your superpower is you give beer to people"

"When the worlds about to end, the mind goes to places" said rae.

"its that bad" said the woman.

Rae weekly smiled.

The woman walked toward the counter.

"Thats twelve bucks a six pack". She reached into her pocket and pulled out a 10 and two ones. "Here we are..."

she paused.

"No wait lets throw in a buck for sales tax"

Rae looked at the woman curiously "What are you doing"

The woman took the 20 and handed it back to Rae "This. This is for you. Take your money back. I'll buy, you great hero"

"I am not a great hero" said Rae "Not at all. I am barely competent"

"You defeat the Hydra "Said the woman "Save the city"

Rae chuckled "I am not going to defeat her. Shes to powerful"

"Oh not her" said the woman " Murphy. no you don't defeat her"

Belinda Hollins regarded the intruder with professional cool.
"What is it you want?"
"Maybe I just want to kill you," Angela suggested.
"Get on with it then."
Angela laughed, and dropped the body of Belinda's secretary. She stepped forward and leaned over the mayor, running her hands up and down the shorter woman's arms.
"Lucky for you I have other plans."
Half an hour later the local press were gathered, and Angela walked out onto the steps of City Hall with the mayor in tow. Keeping it together surprisingly well, Belinda began to address the gathering.
"We live in truly...remarkable times." She turned to Angela with a raised eyebrow, as if it say 'You realy want me to read this crap?' Angela smiled and nodded, gesturing for her to continue.
"Yes. Remarkable times. The world is changing: the dawn of a new era is upon us...an era of peace. An era where crime and war do not exist. And it's my honour to be the one to introduce you to the person who will be resposible for bringing it all about. I give you..."
"HOLD IT THERE!"
Angela glared out into the crowd, trying to spot the source of this rude interruption. A woman stepped forward, and Angela Murphy groaned.
"You're rampage is over, bitch!" the new arrival decalred. It was hard for Angela to take her seriously, dressed as she ws in what was clearly a very quickly thrown together ensemble.
"I was saving the demonstration of my power for after my speech. But thanks for volunteering."
Angela walked calmly toward the woman as everyone else scattered.
"I don't think anyone's going to hold it against me when I kill your ass," the stranger declared. Before Angela took her fifth step the new arrival splayed her arms, reaching out toward newsvans parked about a hundred feet away on either side of her. The vans crumpled a little as she closed her fists and raised her arms a little. Both vehicles rose smoothly into the air. Then the woman slammed her fists together in front of her, and the vans flew in toward Angela. The impact shook the ground, and left Angela trapped inside a mangled mass of steel and plastic. The mass groaned and protested...a hand appeared from within. The woman reached out with both hands and grunted as the mass of metal shifted and shook, and shrank.
Angela let out a roar of rage as the wrecked vans crunched hard into her flesh. It was very uncomfortable, but not painful. She could feel the steel trying to crush her, and her muscles resisted easily enough. It was as though someone were giving her a firm hug. Frustrated at having her official introduction to the world she planned to conquer spoiled, she pulled her arms and legs in tight only to shoot them out again and stretch her tremendously powerful body to it's limit. The woman cried out, and protected herself with some sort of force field as the metal coccoon became an oversized hand grenade.
"Is that all you've got?" Angela demanded, walking forward toward her attacker.
"No."
Angela stopped walking and froze.
"Why don't you tell me how you got these power?"
"I don't know. I fell down, and when I got up I was a god."
"A god?"
"Yes," Angela informed her, her tone monotous. Inside, she struggled against the compulsion to stand like a statue and answer these questions so honestly.
"How can I stop you?"
"You can't. I'm too strong now. If you kill me I'll regenerate."
"How can I convince you stop killing?"
"You can't. I'm determined to get stronger, and shall not rest until I have conquered the world and placed everyone under my rule."
"Then I have no choice."
Angela cried out and dropped to her knees as blood started to flow from her nose. She could feel the woman's mental touch become a crushing hold as her brain started to fry...but as the hold tightened so too did the feint connection between the two women. Angela sensed it through the pain...and seized upon it. It was not as fast as direct contact, but she could feel the essence of her attacker start to fill her, and the devine sensation brought a smile to her face.
"Thank you...mmmm."
The woman dropped to her knees as Angela stood a little straighter. This change was far more obvious to her than the first two. Eveything was different. The whole world suddenly opened up to her and she could feel everything...and everyone. Experimenting, Angela waved a hand over the distant line of reporters and police. There were confused screams as they all dropped as one to the ground, their life force visiblly streaming from them and into Angela.
"YES!" she cried. She had drained them from a distance of nearly a hundred feet. She didn't even need to touch people anymore. Angela was starting to see that her potential was now limitless. Abandoning her desire to use the old power structure, Angela decided she could now enforce her will directly. The crowd that was running away down the other direction stopped as her eyes fell upon them. They stood still for a moment, and then turned as one and started walking steadily toward her. When get within a few feet they knelt and bowed their heads. Angela stood watching them in fascination as they formed a circle around her, and started to pray.

The stranger shrugged. "Angela-in about a month they try dropping an attomic bomb on her. It mostly works. Mater- mater in all things. just under a Millions die but not you. You can save them though. You can save all of them"

Star laughed. "How?

"Well your going to have to loose this"

the woman picked up the crumpled 20.

"What? said Star.

"This 20 dollar bill. Tip isn;'t it. i am not exactly sure. But its very important. I don't forsee any future where you can save them, and have the 20 dollars"

Wowzers, Angela is some kind of powerful. I'm not sure how Star is going to stop Angela but 20 bucks seems a small price to pay, or is it some very deep stuff or maybe I'm just over thinking things.

Angela closed her eyes and listened to the prayers as she spread her influence over the city. She sensed those who were different...and all those with powers similar to the woman she just defeated tried to resist, but Angela grinned and used their power to enhance her own and strengthen her hold over those in her range while increasing that range. At this rate she was certain she would soon have total control over the whole city in minutes. Angela swooned as she 'taxed' her population a tiny percentage of their vitality, and felt her strength quadruple. Her muscles shifted and grew in size and density, stretching her latest outfit to its very limit.
Then she found her. The meddlesome brat. She considered taking her life there and then, but the desire to end the girl's life was outweighed by her yearning for revenge. The girl had nearly ended her rule before it even began, afer all, and she had to be made ot pay for that. And pay slowly.
Passing her influence around the suburbs of Cape Hope Angela sensed millions of people dropping to their knees in supplication, chanting nice things about their new ruler. Fully aware how great this was going to feel, Angela tapped into the unique abilities of all those she sensed as different, and took from them what no others could give her.
It was an even more magnificent rush than she had anticipated. Watching her reflection in the mirror, Angela thrilled to sight of her magnificent body growing taller and thicker, healthier and stronger. New abilities popped into her body alongside the rush of pure life force by the dozen, the life force of hundreds of thousands of people filling the air and churning around her as the raw energy infused itself into her. She could see herself become more beaufiful and realised that at least several thousand of those she had tapped had the power of enhanced sexual appeal. Combined now in her body, the result was beyond stunning, beyond awe inspiring, and far beyond terrifying. When she was done Angela was eight feet tall and positively glowing with health and vitality. No one prayed now...they were too busy spasming in unwanted euphoria, completely crushed by just the vision of what Angela had become. Her influence spread further as her feet left the grounds and she gently hovered in the air. Her eyes glowed green as she crushed the wills of millions more every second, taxing each and every one of her new slaves 5 percent of their lifeforce. The process left her pawing at her own magnificent body as she became stronger and sexier with each passing moment.
The steeet began to fill with poeple as her slaves approached from everywhere, gathering to kneel before her and shower her with praise as she grew stronger and stronger, her will now a irrefutable force that spread itself relentlessly across the entire penisula.

Star nodded. She felt something at the back of her neck. but it was weak.

"alchol" said her friend as she drank her beer. "Angela just aborbed the mental powers of one of the most powerful beingsi n the city Using it here.. But she can't absorb the energy of those who drink grain alchol. the original super couldn't handle a drunken mind can't process it. so drink up"

Rae drank up. "Drink tonight for tommorow we die"

"All men die. those millions? Yeah there going to die. nothing you can do to save them in the long run. 10 years 50 all of them will die. To infinity the diffrence means little.

"except to them" said Star. "Got to save them."

she looked down " How do i do it?

"Take the 20." said the woman...you go out and you let her drink your power your life, all of that jazz.

"What?" said star.

"like i said-you can take a taxi it maybe faster borrow a car. she can't sence you until your riight close to her..then shes going to find you and probabbly start cackling like a madman. maybe monologing. She had a really hard life. Terrible really. I pity her. Those who are that hungry....but you go up and you let her do it.

"With the 20 dollars" said star. "do i go to a store and buy something"

"No" said the woman"or maybe. I am not going to tell you any more. just you know go off and face your destiny.

"am i like posion. is the 20 dollars a special posion note"

"Shes downtown right outside city hall. you can find her She is very hard to miss at this point"

Rae paused and adjusted her costume looking in the mirror

The woman walked out taking a beer. "You had to go natty light. Well in any case"

and walked out.

Rae paused and finished her beer.

"Wait i second should i be driving now?"

then laughed.
