Supergirl Pilot Thread (and reaction)

I may be in the minority, but I think this always should be the Flash!
It's enough for me that Supergirl is vastly stronger, invulnerable, has heat vision, x-ray vision (etc), and is super fast, but not Flash-fast. Give the poor Flash something to call his own. Plus Flash tires and _eventually_ she'll catch him. Maybe if he's smart enough to run around on the dark side of the planet and can wear down her solar battery (it's always unclear how much power they store.)
I'd like the Super-family to be able to see Flash moving, but not really be able to catch him easily (though the TV Flash -- Supergirl would just track him and fry him with heat vision, he's not faster than light, and she'd be fast enough to hit him). But this is mostly with the comic book Flash who is speed of light fast/speed force/run through time/dimensions, etc.
I already have to suspend disbelief on how stupid Superman is when he fights, as he lets (to him) slow strong people connect and punch him through things. Really, watch just about any Superman fight where there is property damage, and if he's not fighting someone with Super-speed, or he was sucker punched, it's all his fault. (And I could write and essay on Doomsday vs. Superman and how stupid it is, and pretty much have )

Don't want to be that guy, but looking at this picture(which i am guessing was shot in the last week or so)-does Benoist look a lot more buff then in earlier pictures or the trailer. Her arms look a *lot* bigger then the Flashes in this pic. I think the suit is deisgned a touch to emphasis this..but it is noticable.
She looks like in the month or so since they shot the pilot she spent a lot of time in the gym.
I noticed that too. And imo, show looked pretty good in the trailer already, especially when she made her final reveal in the costume, striking "that" pose. As someone put it, "she has good shoulders". Now she has good arms to go with them
Roll on November
Peace.

Great line in this.
The last time CBS debuted a superhero series, 1990's The Flash, "there was no Internet," said Schweitzer. "So we've never seen any reaction like this. What do we know? We do crime procedurals and Chuck Lorre sitcoms."
Somehow that sums it up about perfect.

Edit : @oogber sorry for repeating what you just said, I just saw your post. All I can say is I have just gotten my hands on it and I can confirm it looks very legit (The VFX seems final too)

You watch it early you maybe a touch early as you don't see the final edit where the pants will be darkened.

1) It is an individual choice whether you "can't wait to see it" or not, but I truly hope everyone will still watch the pilot when it airs to support it (as well as possibly catch a cleaner, edited version). Our community has been waiting YEARS for this type of show, so I hope at least our community will stand behind it at the onset.
2) SWM will NOT be posting links, screenshots, or reviews of the pilot. Anyone posting links will be taken out into the public square and flogged, and the offending content will be removed. As such, please also do not solicit people to email you links here. This is one piece of content, y'all are gonna have to figure out on your own (if you choose to watch it)
3) Leak or not? Without any tangible inside info, I am of the belief that this was leaked intentionally by the studios. At the time I found it pretty remarkable that NO pictures, footage, info on the pilot had leaked during filming (yeah, there was that one pic I know but that was it). Now after the buzz of the trailer, they get so incredibly careless or lax that a completed version of the pilot (in 1040p) gets leaked? Doesn't gel with me. Of course, there were advanced copies that were sent to some media people, but most screeners are watermarked aren't they? This means that either the "leak" was a different copy or one of the screeners leaked it, meaning they sent a non-watermarked version out for screening? Also, I understand the rush to get the trailer edited for the upfronts (already scheduled) but why the huge rush to finish a pilot set for November premiere? They wrapped filming on March 29th (I think) so then they busted their ass on all the post-production stuff to "finish" a complete pilot just to wait around for 6 months? Sounds like they were rushing to complete it with a purpose in mind. Finally, this seems to mimic the Flash leak last year which paved the way to a lot of success for Flash and Berlanti. Could he be testing the waters again?
My $.02,

So... while agreeing not to overtly discuss the pilot, can we also agree not to covertly reference the pilot in knowing little comments? And if anyone does happen to weave a few verboten details into a comment, can we also agree just to ignore said comment, so that those who have chosen to wait until November are not alerted to the fact that an innocuous looking comment is actually a minor spoiler..? Would that work, y'think..?
As for who and how the trailer was leaked, I have no idea but I doubt the studio did it deliberately. Maybe I'm just naive. I don't know the workflow of Hollywood studios at all (and I only know the UK workflow rather indirectly through work interactions with organisations like the BBC) but I'm always amazed that every hot US show seems to get leaked within nanoseconds of being completed, while most Sherlock and Doctor Who seems to hold out right until t/x.
(PS. I can confirm Kara doesn't get her glasses from Clark Kent... instead there's a simply hilarious(!!) scene in which her heat vision goes haywire in the opticians, and... oh... darn... me an my big mouth. Ouch, that ban-hammer hurts!)

I agree. To honour and respect people who have not seen it, we should err on the side of always using spoiler tags.....

How do you live in that house for six months and pretend there isn't an elephant in the living room?
My suggestion: Open another topic that allows for free, open and extensive discussion of the trailer, including screen captures. Give it a distinctive name like: SPOILER SUPERGIRL PILOT SPOILER. If people want to read it or contribute to it, then fine. If you want to wait and avoid spoilers, then don't open or read that topic. Simple and totally under the control of the reader.
Of course, you will still smell the elephant every time you tiptoe past.
