Thank for this thread. I'd like to expand a little on the subject.
First, you guys might be delighted to know that Jessica has beaten her own records by quite a lot.
These were her previous records, according to the above table:
Squat - 181.5 kg (399.3 lbs) as of June 12th, 2018
Deadlift - 227.5 kg (500.5 lbs) as of June 12th, 2018
Her unofficial records recorded on camera in 2020 (in the same weight class) are now:
Squat - 210 kg (463 lbs)
Deadlift - 250 kg (551.1 lbs)
And also Bench Press - 102.5 kg (226 lbs)
So, she's quite the superwoman. And she's a far cry from the stereotype of the powerlifting woman, i.e. fat and unappealing. She's young, pretty and an Instagram star. But more importantly, she's not alone. More and more women are taking up powerlifting, increasing the ones that can actually shatter existing records. We all can see that Instagram fitness models are growing in number and popularity, and among them some have decided to take it to the next level.
I want to share the following comments from the Youtube video linked above to put things into perspective. These guys are into powerlifting but they're definitely not into the sex appeal of this kind of women like we are, so I think it's amazing they're impressed:
I think we're gonna see more of Jessica and more like Jessica in the next years.
