The first and one of the best Trek lady guest stars of any franchise. Did you know that Yvonne Craig was also up for the part of Vina and almost got it because she was a better dancer than Susan Oliver? The set piece in the Vina story, of course, is when she dances for Pike as an Orion slave girl. But they kept Craig in mind and the next time they needed a dancing Orion, they cast her.
BTW I've always been convinced that Vina as the Orion was one of the main influences for the look of She-Hulk. Orion Vina is towering, muscular (by 1964 female standards), green, has a wild mane for hair, and is dressed in skimpy ripped clothing. In 1970s New York, where and when I lived as a kid, Star Trek reruns were shown every weeknight at 6pm for years. It seems incredibly unlikely to me that Vina as the Orion wouldn't have been in Stan Lee and John Buscema's minds as they were thinking of somone Jen Walters could change into.
