Hello, newbie here

I'm a new user, new to everything concerning superheroines. I'm a long standing member of the female muscle community (I know most of you don't like that, I'm sorry) so you can say I'm quite used to super strong girls and the like. I've never cared for superheroines because I've always thought that a certain degree of strength should be matched by a corresponding amount of muscle, and I've never liked western comics about superheroes (don't kill me). Smallville's Kara was my exception because, well, Laura Vandervoort is just the epitome of sexiness. I even cut together all her strength feats in a short clip.
Though FM is still my chief interest, I decided to expand my horizons when I saw Danica Thrall starring as Superwoman in a clip found on youtube. She was amazing. I didn't know amateur productions had access to such stunning beauties. Danica isn't just beautiful, she's the perfect superheroine. She's tall, curvy, lean but, most importantly, tough and genuinely sweet at the same time. She can act like a pro and she convincingly holds the stance of a superwoman. She looks strong and imposing. She made me question my preference for Laura Vandervoort which is quite the feat in itself.
From that moment on, I got hooked with superheroines. I learned about the many production websites out there (such as superheroines.net, PSW, the Steeles and so on), and I was happy to find some muscles in some PSW clips featuring fitness competitor Aubrie Richeson (a pity she can't act).
Though I have to say I'm quite astonished by the huge amount of websites regarding peril and even death (I didn't know there's an erotic interest in superheroines being ruthlessly killed, I like to learn about other people's interests). It seems to me that most girl power sites such as superheroines.net and the Steeles are dying out while peril ones are growing in size and number. Is that just my impression?
Thank you for reading, I hope someone does

That's quite odd, don't you think?
I'm not questioning other people's interests, I'd never do that. But I still think it's funny that superheroines sell more for being super beaten rather than... just super.
Scwank wrote: I share your opinion of Danica. If you like Danica, make sure you check her out in Bluestone's Supernova if you haven't already. She's in some mild peril there, but also does her share of ass kicking, too.
Thanks, yes Supernova is definitely an interesting character. I'll manage to buy those clips (I wanted to buy them from genrevideos because of the 5$ discount but it's too painful a process).
Judging by the screenshots, Danica looks quite different there. Her hair has a more natural color, and she wears much less make up. I can't wait.

FM superhero-difrent versions of the same coin. Its how you do the story to be honest to make it work.
I write the kind of stuff i do becuase at least a superhero story from a writers perspective has a format i can play with. . I have tried my hand at female muscle stories but never quite make them work Putting a costume on a character gives her something to do and (as someone who went to college can tell you) create an intresting dynamic between the urge of civilization with the powers of chaos.
As to your regard about death fetish sites versus straight superhero stuff. I think your looking at two sides of the internet problem.
Well heres a truth i have discovere as someone who works in LA film and has played around a bit in videos.... Youtube is remarkably good at good at giving away things, not that good at paying people for there work. The average superheroine video is kind of expensive to produce-and probabbly won't make a lot of money sad to say. Giving it away-and people want it for free. People who do it, more power to them, and i salute you but i can see as a money making proposition why it doesn't happen.
The way you really can of course-and this is something i don't really like either is to take it to the realm of pure fetish. You can make money if a 1000 people want to see you torture someone..well that Internet to. At least there willing to pay more. Its long my belief that the idea of the dominatrix and the idea of a superheroine-both kind of dependent on the other to exist. But as for me i think it looses the point somewhere. But well thats a story to.
Glad to see you here. Hope maybe you write some stuff . happy to give you feedback if you want.

Now that the formalities are out of the way, I have to say that I'm really glad you're here (especially because this area of the forum doesn't see much action

As for the FM vs Ubergirls argument ... well I think it's a matter of personal preferences and author style. Some people thrive writing about skinny girls that can lift mountains, others prefer more tone physiques. I have to admit that we rarely dwelve in the mountain of muscles category, but maybe you can provide us some insight in that sense. I've tried to read some FM fiction, but it rarely lives up to my expectations.
About the peril thing ... it's a really complicated argument that has been discussed before. My personal guess is that peril material is actually easier and cheaper to produce. Easier because it's easier to write. In most UG fiction you have to present some kind of challenge to the main character, but you also have to write it as semi-invincible which makes things harder. In peril fiction it's just a matter of "pulling out the kryptonite" after establishing the character as believeably powerful for her kind. In my eyes this is a waste, if you use the first 15 minutes or so to establish a character why, for the love of Artemis/Sif/Khali/whatever, would you think it's a good idea to rip the character to pieces for the rest of the movie?

You're right about this forum section, that's why I wrote "I hope someone will read my post"

Yes, without a doubt it's a matter of personal preferences regarding the look of a girl. And I can provide you with all the insight in the world about FM

Whenever you want to try something so good it could be easily published, try this (parts 2 , 3 and 4 ). Mind that the theme is strong girls, not superheroines in a costume (as far as I know, there are no really good authors into both FM and superheroines wearing a costume).
(Other than fiction there are fan arts too though

Ahah, I completely agree with you! And what's the point in doing that to superheroines? A superstrong character being super beaten... why?

But, are you into FM? Did you try to write a FM story without being interested in muscles on a girl? If so, whoa. I could never do that

I don't understand what you mean with your last quoted sentence. What has college to do with that?

Thank you, well as a matter of fact I'm writing something though I'm very slow because English isn't my mother tongue. I'll be merging a great deal of female muscle with some superheroic elements such as superpowers, but I'm still shying away from costumes. And the fight between evil and the greater good is not something I have any interest in writing, I'm sorry

Peril...I will never understand. As for Superchick snuff, well that's just the complete oposite of everything that appeals to me.
I look forward to any stories you come up with, as we can never have too
many writers working this genre.

And as for your thing, I actually prefer both. I've actually read a few FM works back when Xtreme Strength was still around but actually combining the two proved for an amazing read, if not then for a pretty powerful girl.
You'll see me here often actually, and probably a lot more in the chat room that we have here.
Also, you can ask me questions at the 'Ask a Supergirl' thread regarding anything really, ranging from a feat I should try out to just a general question about my favorite candy - and it's a good milk chocolate bar by the way.
On behalf from all of us, we hope that you can make this place your home!
You'd think that superspeed would make me more punctual, huh?

A bit of Scholastic Theroy:
Superheros stories evolved from older versions of Cowboys. Though they take elements from swashbuckling stories, and sherlock holmes, in america at least the most pure forms come from stories of the old west.
In these kind of stories you had the cowboy- a kind of figure who lives on the edge of civilization. Never quite confterable in civilization but not truely wild either. He(or she) fights for civilization-fights bandits, indians etc who all represent in some form chaos or the wild. they want to break into the small town and destroy it. The cowboy has the same powers as the bandit-the ability to use guns, ride etc . she has to stop it, even if hes never quite part of civlization. A liminal figure.
This is literally the story of Zorro whose basically the earliest superhero. Then you get into things like Batman who brought it forward to modern times, or Superman who made the powers more fantastic-but the same basic idea. Instead of guns and indians, you have science fiction but still saving the town from the forces of evil.
Then into your Phantom Lady or Wonder Woman. where we kind of play.
And i do like FM fiction, but as writer i have found tapping into into this-usually at a slightly off angle, is part of the thrill to me. My most recent story 'going once' has litterally none of these elements directly except the idea of a girl who is not quite a normal college student not quite a god.
Good luck in writing. However your story goes i hope find an intresting angle to it.

Welcome to the forum. We are a friendly bunch here who don't like to see women suffer. I agree about the peril although I'd be a hypocrite saying I never frequent a peril site or forum but I only do so to see if any dominance occurs in those films and once in a while you get a nice surprise. The actresses in the superheroine genre films are beautiful and yes one of my favorite actresses is Danica! She is a natural beauty but I don't agree with you that she looks imposing and that's what is sexy to me. We all have minor differences here about superheroines and what we like. I do like seeing a heroine toss around a guy or deliver furious kicks but I ultimately prefer to see her display feats of strength. Growing up watching The Bionic Woman it's my ultimate fantasy to see most of these actresses moving in slow motion, running, jumping great heights, bending metal, kicking down doors, lifting the end of a car, etc. I'd love to see Danica or other actresses/models like Emma Glover, or the countless other women who star in these movies. Outfits are also very important to me such as leather, latex, heels and boots! Seeing a women wearing that do amazing things is my ultimate thrill. Hope you share some of these fantasies as well but if not welcome aboard anyway, lol! Take care.

I do not understand the whole superheroine "peril" genre either. Unfortunately, it does seem to be proliferating on the net a whole lot more than our "power" genre. If you visit some of their forums, the peril fans say it is because their fetish is never shown in mainstream media, meaning that the superheroine always wins in TV shows, movies, etc... Hence, there is some sort of backlash toward the lack of peril and the market has responded by fulfilling this "need" through the internet (just like any other fetish I would guess).
Where this argument breaks down is that I don't see any superheroines anywhere in mainstream media! There were a few shows in the 70s and one Supergirl film in the 80s, but outside of those, it has been pretty dry. So how can they make the claim that "the superheroine always wins in mainstream media" when there are no superheroines in mainstream media?
Now, I don't mind a superheroine being presented a challenge during the course of a story. After all, you can't have a good story without some sort of conflict. However, most peril fans take this to the extreme by requesting humiliation and death of their superheroine movies. I find those guys especially...creepy.
Sorry I sort of veered off topic there for a few paragraphs. I'll stop ranting now.

Thank you! I wasn't expecting such a warm welcome

You're right about the lack of superheroines in mainstream media though I can see their point. You'll rarely (if ever) see a superheroine beaten to death in something mainstream. Still, powerful girl fans are not enough to justify a budget worth of mainstream appearances, and that's just sad.
About the need for conflict... I agree with you, but it depends on the conflict. I don't like when there are enemies strong enough to pose a threat to the superheroine. I'm all for girls so powerful their strength just can't be matched, and I'm not comfortable with the kryptonite thing as well (she's the strongest being ever but she keels over if you pull out a stone? Seriously?). So my favourite conflicts are those regarding the heroine's mind. If she gets possessed, or if she somehow turns evil, then you have a plot to work on without threatening the perception of her superiority.

Thank you for sharing your opinions

I agree with most of what you said, especially on feats of strength. They're just the best, and absolutely needed. Actually, I think they're even more important for thin superheroines than for muscular girls since otherwise you wouldn't be able to figure out their strength.
As for outfits, I have different opinions depending on the kind of body. On a thin model-like superheroine I share your opinion on latex and high heeled boots. I'm particularly fond of supergirl's shiny red boots! They really make girls look powerful and in charge.
On a muscular girl things are a bit different though. She wouldn't need a tight outfit to look powerful, and indeed they usually goes with the skimpiest thing possible (bikini and the like). Proper clothes are usually meant to be ripped while flexing. As for footwear, I'm fond of platform heels. Boots don't cut it because they'd hide the calves.

Second - thank-you for your support of PSW! It means a lot to me. Aubrie certainly was an effort to see if I could get more help from the FM community. It was successful in that regard - however fitness models are often very expensive and careful of their public image since they make a living doing product contracts. I hope a model like Michaela or Sierra is a good bridge too.
Third - Only peril for the sake of it or loving the fall of a raised up hero for the sake of - it makes me sad. Every time I open my e-mail I worry if there will be a new request that is going to be a beat down idea or something actually inspired. I think peril is easier for producers out there - but there is also more demand.
Fourth: Kryptonite - I have a story where the heroine digs a kryptonite bullet out of her own arm. Sure it hurt - sure she was in pain - but there was no just falling over like a wimp.
Fifth - On thing that is great about the SWM story section is you can often imagine whatever build - sometimes costume - you want on the authors characters.

If you don't mind, I do have some questions regarding PSW. I'll be posting in the proper thread

As for Aubrie, thank you for letting me know what a difficult process lies behind hiring a fitness competitor. I honestly didn't know, though of course I knew they wouldn't do anything overtly sexual. To be honest I thought Aubrie herself could be the bridge to something 'more' given that you are based in America (where female bodybuilders are plenty).
My ultimate fantasy is to see a beautiful, young, hugely muscular bodybuilder such as Shannon Courtney acting as a superheroine. If someday I become rich I'll fund you to do it, would you be okay with that?

Thank you for being of the few producers rooting for super superheroines and not for weak girls in a costume!

The Kryptonite clip you're talking about seems very interesting!
