I've said it before ~ and I've hoped ~ and I've been wrong. However, maybe the SG comic is going in the right direction now... ...maybe.

Smallville has been just about perfect for the character ~ but the "S" is still key so I'm still paying attention to the DC book.

Why do I have new hope?

I've always been a fan of Batman ~ so him being more of a mentor to SG than Superman is a great idea in my mind. Esp since no one wants a female superman ~ the batman style influencing her would give her just the right edge.

Batman mentoring supergirl? Well it isn't like he hasn't had prior experience mentoring people.

I'd say Batman is well qualified to mentor someone that is going to be in life or death struggles fairly often. He's good at analyzing and adapting to new situations and isn't going to spend too much time codling. I believe he needs to device some ways of teaching that seem horribly cruel but teach important life lessons.

Good issue ~ sad part is the first few pages in the preview were my fav part.

I just hope we see some stability and the story becomes a bit more consistant and clear. Art for the most part was good. Her body looks about right for a comic, costume looked good, face was okay in most frames.

I loved it when she put her hair in a ponytail ~ don't think we'd ever seen that before.

Newsarama just posted its DC previews for May. Not much in the way of superheroine action to be honest. However, I do like the fact that for SG they are finding some real villians for her that are her own. Looks like there is even more hope. Some folks don't care for the art right now, I actually think it's getting better, plus the character and story are getting better and better.

Newsarama has some previews of Wednesday's Supergirl release.

They've got her lifting/holding/crashing a car in the first few pages and you get to see it for free here:

I liked this comic a great deal ~ did anyone else pick it up?

Good conflict scene with Livewire and Supergirl. She gets zapped hard and they knock each other around for a few pages before Livewire is taken down the "obvious" way. :D

There is a scene of SG lifting her ship out of the ice in the arctic along with a really nice story that fills in some of the really poor holes in the writing so far.

It's kind of a "let's clean up this mess" book ~ but it works really well and I was well satisfied.
