Issue #219 once more shows that Diana is a match for DC's mightiest hero as they go toe to toe. And Supe's not holding back, because he's mindcontrolled.

The issue also have a quite surprising end, but I won't spoil it ;-)

Quite a good comic for those who like to see WW showing her amazon warrior spirit in a fight of life and death.

See ya,

Indeed.

And not to give away the ending -- but I wonder if it could be part of Maxwell Lord's grand plan. The title of the story-arc is "Sacrifice" -- and in chess, to sacrifice is to allow a powerful piece to be taken in order to gain a long-term advantage.

But when did Maxwell Lord (who was something of a joke in the old JUSTICE LEAGUE series) become an adversary of such Machiavellian magnitude?

Agreed. How can he barely hold Super Buddies together and suddenly become this nefarious villain?

Well, the writers of the Super Buddies stories have themselves stated that it skirts continuity, the presence of the deceased Sue Dibny being case in point. As for Lord, he personally told Blue Beetle(before blowing his head off) that he'd personally kept the League ineffective in the old days. Basically they're retconing it into the idea that he was playing everyone from day one. Still, pretty cool twist on the guy.
