I've been waiting for this. Comixology have finally made
Wonder Woman #288
available. This is the one where the classic Silver Swan makes her debut. The long-lost copy I had many years ago was an inspiration to the young G7. One of my first "original" RPG characters was a palette-swapped version of Silver Swan called Red Raven (see what I did there?) Where Silver Swan failed in her ancient-god-given mission to kill Wonder Woman, my version succeeded in her mission to kill a male superhero. She was then granted even more powers, and went on a cruel rampage. My super-bad girl obsession started early. Somehow my RPG scenarios always devolved into a team of over-powered villainesses killing or enslaving all the heroes and taking over the world. Plus ca change.
Why do I love Silver Swan version 1.0? Aside from the fact that she's hot as balls, she's also powerful, strong, and merciless. I was disappointed that later versions reduced her powers to just flight and the sonic scream, because I love a villainess who can go toe-to-toe with Wonder Woman.
From this week's drop, I also picked up a copy of Legion of super-heroes from the 80's, not because I'm familiar with that run, but because as someone whose purpose in life is apparently to write super-powered femdom fiction, I couldn't resist this page:
Emerald Empress (70's and 90's) was another early inspiration for me. If memory serves, my version enslaved Mr. Mxyzptlk and stole his powers. Imagine Emerald Empress rampaging through 31st Century Earth, unbeatable and without remorse. I know I have.
Fans self.

Thanks A LOT man ! I had no idea about this SILVER SWAN character. I have a thing for confident, power-hungry villainess, so this one really made my spider sense tingle!
