Sonic Boom from Maschera Gialla

This is a post I delayed for a long time because I had trouble contacting the author and asking his permission to repost this content.

Maschera Gialla (Yellow Mask) is a webcomic created by Davide "Dado" Caporali and published through Facebook ( link here ) it chrionicles the misadventures of a wannabe superhero from Rome, Maschera Gialla, and his friends.
Among the supporting cast there are two incredibly badass girls: Violet -- a super-competent non-powered girl who is able to outshine every other character at any given moment (pretty much Batman) -- and Sonic Boom -- a super-strong and invulnerable crazy-ass and very bitchy superheroine that seem to be obsessed by gaining fame.

The attached comic is Sonic Boom origin story and this is how it goes.
Sara (the future Sonic Boom) started growing up up very early in middle school and as soon as she hit high school was already pretty damn popular, being competitive she started competing in swimming contests and won ... a lot. Of course everyone wanted to hang around with the beautiful junior champion and, after a while she prefered going out with her "friends" rather than training. She started losing her edge and her trainer gave her an "enhancer" that made Sonic way stronger and faster. Everything seemed perfect, except that she developed twin breast tumors and underwent a double mastectomy ...but it was not enough.
Desperate, her parents asked to the Novelli Dynamics for help. the Novelli was a laboratory that studied superpowers and related complications. They stabilized Sara, further enhancing her blooming super-strength (also made her hair naturally purple in the process).
She escaped and while she was testing her new limits her old trainer attacked her. It turned out that the "enhancer" was in fact the blood of her trainer, who was superstrong herself. In the following battle Sara discovered that she was also extremely hard to injure and able to regenerate, something her opponent wasn't. She literally hit her old mentor so hard she exploded and then procedeed to wipe out the Novelli board of directors.

According to the last page, she now think of herself just as Sonic Boom. She had never returned home, fearing that her parents will be in danger.
