Coming Soon FemForce 183 was created by Markiehoe
An all ACTION packed Issue,

Looks like I will have THREE stories in the next issue of FemForce number 183 coming soon.
Black Phantom faces down an angry mob in "Hang 'em High"

She Cat gets a lesson (the hard way) in African Martial arts in "Night to Howl"

and Yankee Girl gets all tangled up in a big mess in "The Big Breakthrough"

all this and many other stories by my friends at AC Comics.

The recent issues are only physical copies.
You can download the first 75 issues and many older issues from this authorized site.

I went ahead and added FemForce to my pull so I wouldn't forget.  I don't think an issue has come in since then.

And I'm organizing my comics and I found the box where I tossed all my AC comics, but I've not inventoried them to see what I had.  That's the fun/horrible part of inventoring. I lose so much time when i want to stop and start reading....

Well Done!

I too have a hard time resisting the lure of the comics.

I still prefer actual comics.  But to not have new digital versions is stupid.

I don't know how hard it is, but just get on Comixology.  I know small independents make it on there so it's doable...

I've never used Comixology but seeing that everyone and their brother are on there, I can't imagine it being too difficult.  I have personally used DriveThruComics and got something posted in about 3 hours.  There is also Indy Planet, Wowio, etc.  AC Comics is the ONLY outfit I know of that doesn't offer digital releases.  For such a successful and long standing brand, it's a head scratcher, as they are leaving major bucks on the table.

I purchased every copy of Femforce up to issue #110 (estimated), when I make a conscious choice to eliminate 99% of printed new issues for space concerns.  That is close to 70 issues times $9.95 that they've lost with me alone!

As Markie said, they have the first 75 issues downloadable, but then they've never continued going through their library.  Femforce 120, for example, is over 15 years old!  I have asked Markie, I have asked Bill Black and never received any reason or answer.  Le sigh....

I am just a free lance writer who is not involved in any way with day to day operations.

All I know is that AC Comics started min 1982 along with a bunch of other companies.Pacific, First, Eclipse, Comico etc.
Those are all gone now and AC keeps plugging along.
They must be doing something right.

I just read FemForce 183
the three stories I wrote turned out excellent.
Two are filled with Ubergirl goodness and one is a western.
There are several other Ubergirl stories in the issue.

If you are looking for Good Girls doing heroic things you can find it in FemForce.

I've gotten electronic comics from jsut about everywhere (including Kickstater, etc).

I REALLY wish that Femforce had an electonic version. And doubly so if it did what Marvel did: give me a coupon for the electronic version. I don't care where it comes from, just give me something to easily read later if fork over the $$ for the deluxe paper edition.

I forget when I stopped with Femforce. It got hard to find, and I've gone through periodic dry spells with comics where I only buy minimally.  One of those times I gave it up.

A sale to catch people up on the electronic copies are also good.  Not sure if i'd fork over $100 in one shot to et the entire FemForce catalog, but I'd think about it.  For $50, I don't think i'd think about it, I'd just slap down the CC.  Of course one has to KNOW about such sales, I think AC is pretty bad about that becuase if it wasn't mentioned here, I don't think I'd be buying FemForce now!

I feel your pain on printed issues.  I gave up on books.  I've contemplated giving up on printed comics.

I've had a 27" monitor for years. I have a 12.9" iPad (the best thing to read electornic comic on when not in front of a computer monitor, doubly so for Comixology as the iOS app is better than the Android app).  When all i'm after is reading the story, I actually prefer digital (it's far easier to find and read, esp if I'm hoping around).  I love trades and giant HC reprints of older issues too . . but I have spent many a sunday just reading old issues off the computer.  The HC editons are nice when I'm just wanted to re-read all of the Savage She-Hulk, but i'm often bouncing around series/issues following a thread.

I'm still not over the love the printed issue, and buy far too many of them used for my collection and new to read each week.  (In other news, aside from foreign language issues and some Trade Paper Backs that I have the issues of so I think I can ignore ... if a comic has the word "Supergirl" in the actual title I have it.  (Pending ebay shippments.)  I found more things on ComicBook DB so I had to go get them...

But man, I have to do some SERIOUS rethinking of my house as I couln't organize, and bag/board my comics and store them.  I'm only part of the way done, and I've got 15k comics indexed, and at least a few thousand left. (And then I still have a ton of bagging/boarding and re-organizing) And that's leaving the old, worn ones that half are water damanged in the basement and ignoring them.  (I use them to figure out if I need to get a new version of something).  If it wasn't for some cool IKEA shelves and moving to short boxes I don't think I could cope.  It's just too much space.

I do love it when Comixonlogy/Amazon has sales on collections of comics. I think I picked up the Dark Phoenix saga for $2.50 once.

I maen i have the issues, a trade, and a giant collection of X-Men that has it ... but $2.50!!   Sigh. I'm an addict.

Congratulations Markiehoe - I didn't know until now that you were a freelancer writer for Femforce, that's awesome!
(btw the word "insidious" is spelled wrong in the She-Cat example, fyi. but that is the editor's job).

Yes, Bill Black's dedication to this series is beyond admirable, but the spottiness of the books' availability and information is baffling.
I just went to AC Comics' website and checked under the "AC Comics News" drop-down, and there's no listing at all for FemForce 183.
They have announcements that 181 and 182 and are out, and they have solicitations for 184. But nothing at all for 183. You'd think they want to promote the issue you wrote for.
Comicbookdb seems even more behind when it comes to FemForce titles..they don't have anything listed after 178. Someone's clearly not keeping up over there.

I would love to find a physical comics store to reliably purchase these books, as reading them online (and the somewhat similar series of classically-themed heroine titles put out by Heroic Publlishing, such as Flare)
was among the big influences on creating Heroineburgh. As were many of his superheroine productions through Nightveil Media/Cult Retro - I purchased several of his movies (Stormy Tempest, Nightveil, Scorpion etc) through
download. But I have never seen AC Comics products sold in my LCS. So the only physical AC Comics title I own is one of the early Femforce trade-paperback Omnibuses that I found randomly at a Half-Price Books.
And another frustrating aspect is that I love to buy TPBs, but it seems that pretty much all of the graphic novel collections Bill ever printed of the Femforce titles are OUT OF PRINT and don't seem to be coming back into print any time soon.

It's definitely a problem that these comics are so hard to find, poorly marketed, and go out of print so quickly.
Femforce is the original sexy superheroine team, and like you said, the only survivor from the days of 80s indie superhero comics (and I was very interested back then in the books with female characters, buying titles like Whisper, Elementals,
and Love & Rockets). Hallowed respect, mixed with palpable frustration!

I guess I'll find out through my LCS what kind of special orders they can do through Diamond or something. It would be nice to catch up on this saga.

Hey Shevek, thanks for your feedback.

Everything at AC Comics is done in house mostly by Editors Mark and Stephanie Heikie.
By keeping things small they have managed to stay afloat but it has become a monumental load.
I am sure you are familiar with wearing many hats to produce your videos.
They just revamped the website so things may be a little buggy and it may need to shake out a bit.
As for advertising, personally I get everything from FirstComicsNews.com and they are pretty currant with all AC news.
My local comics shop will not stock indy comics on speculation in case they don't sell.
All I buy is indy books these days so I go to Previews and write down all the books I want and I give the list to my guy and he orders them for me.
I pay no upfront money, which I would if he asked, and pay when the books arrive.
I even get the store discount.

In this modern day the customer has to work a little to get what he wants.
Gone are the days of the 80s and 90s when comics companies overprinted and shops overstocked.
This is how we got to where we are now.

Omnibusses and trades were printed in the past but they really did not sell well and demand after the first printing is almost non existent.
Another victim of the times.

Thanks for the great reply, Markiehoe. I too buy mostly indies these days. My LCS does a pretty good job of stocking lots of the bigger indies like Image, Dark Horse, Aftershock and Dynamite, but fails to carry some others which focus on superheroine titles like Aspen, AC and Heroic.

I will definitely do some special ordering through my LCS for AC Comics titles in the next month, and report my purchases to #movetheneedle.
