Presumably they came into possession of some alien space-faring technology and secretly used it to build saucers, with everyone who knew about it going with them. Could be a wild story line.

I always enjoy far out Nazi super-technology stories.

Now if they only discovered something in that alien technology to tweak their people, to make them super strong or bulletproof or whatever, then we'd have one heck of a movie.

Who is to say the alien space-faring tech did not have a package inside. There is a reason why the Nazi are returning now. Someone has come to age.

Precisely...I'm betting the movie is going to be a fertile source for fan-fiction, especially if we extend it to include someone like the Baronness that Raa has proposed, or perhaps some other Nazi-like favorite with super-powers.

I simply like the theme (despite the tiny peak we've seen of it) and see it as a wonderful underlying plot device for spinning out kind of stories.

After all, super powered heroines are most interesting when they face some really evil super villains.

I've been following this for a year and a half now it seems. I'm just trying to keep my expectations down. All the previews look amazing – but I have to remind myself it’s a parody/comedy. These are the same folks that did Star Wreck the Pinkering (or something close to that) after all. I start to think it’s an action movie too much. Then I remember it is supposed to be a comedy and feel disappointed for some reason. I also wonder if it is Space Nazi focused – or if the other side (British?) will be represented – and if they will be “cool**” also.

Just an update, Iron Sky is out on Netflix now. And if you haven't seen it, it's really good. Lots of humor and a bit of smart social commentary.

I so wanted to like this movie.
I made it 17 minutes in before I stopped.
What a waste of a great concept.
I wanted to see a movie about Nazis on the moon and they gave me one stupid joke after another.

The humor can be corny, yes, but believe me, it gets *way* better. Like Nazi zeppelin starships attacking the Earth better. Give it time.

I'd rather spend time debating how bad this movie is.
The opening of the movie is the set up.
It was awful and un funny.
I was done after 17 minutes.
The producers were soooooo edgy bashing America.
Sarah Palin as president?
Why didn't they have President Obama?
Can't touch him I guess.
The bashing of America was OK but they changed the U.N. to the United World Council.
I guess the U.N. is off limits.
The movie was not funny and a wasted premise.
So after 17 minutes of awfulness I'm supposed to stick around and wait for something good to happen?

I watched the movie and had a good time with it. The USA inside this ones gets its dose of humorous critique, if you are interested in politics and general political discussions you would value and like the movie probably a little more.

Want to see why it's no good to bring up anything but sports and Supergirls here? Read this thread.

But to stay on topic.
If you're a cliche proud 'Merican (TM), stay away from movies made outside of Hollywood.
If you like diversity and smart ideas, even with sometimes mediocre execution, stay away from movies made in Hollywood.
Thought that had been clear for a few years by now.

I for my part spent about one third of the movie groaning at bad jokes and two thirds laughing my ass off. The fact that I know (and don't really like) someone named Kortzfleisch may have helped, though.

There were Nazis on the moon, the politics were irrelevant and Dr. Strangelove isn't that good. I prefer MASH. =P

PS: God may love America, but the real world may prefer Russia and China in the future even as if they are as cruel as they appear in your local media(as well as in mine too!).

PS2: I've reread my own posting today, and I feel sorry- if anyone feels insulted because of my statements- I don't wont to come across as that- we are all situated on the same planet and we should never forget about this simple but very important aspect of our existence!
