I've just finished the script for the second episode of Raven's Secret.
Filming is set to begin this Saturday 3/21

Hope the weather holds out for you if any shooting will be done outside. We got a bit of snow in my town over night. Thought it was spring!

Any flying or hovering in this one? Always a turn on to see. A bitch to do without a green screen or however it is done.

OK... From the Steele Newsdesk.

We're nearly finished filming. We intended to wrap filming in the 3 days we'd set for shooting, but Mother (Frakking) Nature caught up with us on day three. So, we still have 3 scenes to shoot.
We're set to resume filming on 4/5..
The bad news.... Well, we didn't finish shooting.
But the good news is I have more than enough completed scenes to go into editing. So, the project as a whole hasn't been delayed.
I'm hoping to have the final cut by mid May.

How are things coming along in editing?

Sorry I haven't talked about the film much in the last ...well.. forever.
It's coming along quite nicely.
We finished filming a while back, and I've been editing ever since.
I have a good idea when I'll have the final cut, but I've been reading some of the other threads, and I'm not about to give you guys a timeline and then miss it!

It'll be finished when it's finished!

Ok.. trailer... Umm.. I'll have one for you guys sometine.
Right now, I'm balls out editing to try and have a cut ready for the Indy Meet this Memorial Day weekend back home in Vegas.

A few thoughts..
As film projects go, this one has gone pretty smooth. The only real wildcard has been the weather. It rains here, ALOT!!! In fact, I don't think I've gone 7 whole days without it since I moved here. It makes it hard when shooting the FX shots, when you need to match the light from a previous shoot day. But, I'm working around it.
Hmm.. what else! Oh! My daughter ( whom you might remember as the Medical Examiners assistant in THE AWAKENING ) got to die in this film too.. Haha... Her only request was that I give her a few lines of dialog in this one. She delivered them perfectly.... Then died! LOL!

Well, I guess that's it for now.
I'll try to throw a few frame grabs in here this weekend maybe.

I'm burning it at both ends to get this thing finished. Made great time till I got hung up on one of the FX shots. Lost 5 days trying to make a 6 second shot look right. But, I have 5 more days before I get on the plane to the Independent Filmmakers Meet in Vegas. I'm still hopeful that I can finish it by then. Well, a rough cut with all the FX at least.
When I get back I'll make a trailer for everyone here. Then finish the final cut.

I'm excited for my friend Mike Conway ( Director of THE AWAKENING ) and the other filmmakers to see it, but I believe it's the SWM fans who are going to appreciate this film most. I honestly can't wait for you folks to see it!

In the Steele update thread, Kelly mentioned that the updates over there would be delayed until the 30th, as he'd be away, and that he'd return with a double update (here's hoping he's right, as my subscription expires in the next day or two, and I won't be able to resubscribe for a few months). I imagine that whatever is affecting those sites probably has him away from the editing machine, too.

Scwank I'm back now. Got home last night.
And yes, I'll have updates ready on or before the 30th! Also, I showed a rough cut of the movie at the Las Vegas Indy Meet and well... It was a friggin hit! I did get gigged on a few small points, but overall everyone loved it!
