For some reason, the stories don't appear on the "Date Deposited" index, but readers can find them listed in the "Title" and "Author" index.

Okay, now I'm seeing the two new stories listed at the top of the "Date Deposited" index. That was odd.

GeekSeven:

I've really been enjoying your "Stupendous Girl" stories -- especially the last two. She started off as a one-dimensional character -- basically a vehicle for a series of gags -- but now she has a personality and a back-story and a supporting cast. Giving her a "minder" was an inspired idea -- very funny and very original. Their relationship has some interresting ... complications, which I hope you'll continue to explore.

Stupendous Girl is a good-hearted, well-meaning super-heroine -- who causes as much death and destruction (albeit unwittingly) as any of Conceptfan's girls. So she ought to appeal to both sides of the aisle, to "good" and "bad" ubergirl aficionados alike.

Thanks for all the stories you've posted in the past few weeks. They're fresh and funny and very well-written, and they've given the StoryBank a much-needed shot in the arm. Keep them coming!

Thanks, Argonaut! You're going to swell my ego to epic proportions if you're not careful.

I'm happy to be able to contribute something to the storybank, since it's given me a lot of enjoyment over the years. I'm just hoping not to stink the place up too bad.

I'm hoping to have something else soon. I keep starting stories and then not finishing them...

Me, too. I was planning to finish one or two of them, but right now my writing time is committed to my workshop story. Some day ...

Any update as to when Supergirl part 19 might be heading our way?

Whatever time I've been able to spare for writing lately has been spent on my workshop story (and a couple of scripts for Jon at SuperSexyHeroines). And ace has been pretty, too.

But we've got Chapter 19 plotted, and commissioned an illustration from TGK. (He just sent me a scan of the finished artwork, and it's a beauty.) I suppose ace and I can get the chapter written this summer.

But --

Chapter 18 sank like a stone. Except for a couple of shout-outs from Lfan and Sarge (thanks, guys!), it didn't get any response at all. I'm curious to know whether people are still following our story and want to see it continue?

Chapter 19 was pretty slow, you promised Suzy Prentiss as the other girl of steel and sudenly we got Lana praticing for her role in Romeo and Juliet and Suzy Prentiss being kidnapped instead a real rival for Lana. Or something else.

Going ahead is the only one way to go to the future.

Chapter 18, you mean. And it was Suzy who was performing in "Romeo and Juliet," and Clark who was kidnapped.

Still, your points have merit -- and honest criticism is always welcome.

Ace and I planned to write the "cover scene" into Chapter 18. But the build-up took more pages than we expected, so we broke off at what seemed to be a properly suspenseful moment. The cover scene -- or something close enough to it -- will definitely appear in Chapter 19.

As for finding the chapter to be kind of slow: That's just what I was wondering -- whether our story's leisurely, novelistic pacing and its emphasis on character development and interaction is holding readers' interest. Are readers still on board with our story? Do they feel they're getting enough bang for their buck?

I admit that I'm guilty for being one of those that didn't send any feedback. Right now I have two big excuses:

1- I'm a long way behind schedule, and I haven't read chapter 18 yet

2- I'm more a fan of Bronze/Iron age comics, so sometimes your story, which looks a little more Silver age doesn't fit my taste more for matter of prejudice than quality

I have a similar feeling. The story itself is fine, but sometimes it is too "silly", really silver ageish. But it bears some basic silver age mistakes. The cast is quite limited and the romantic situation would be solved quite fast.

Maybe a parallel plot would work for Lana. She needs some work at her heroic career, like another conflict source. Because sometimes Clark x Lex x Lana x Supergirl isn't really interesting

Going ahead is the only one way to go to the future.

I keep trying to tell you Argo, everyone says they read Playboy for the articles, but what they really like are the pictures! Don't worry guys! There is another TGK action masterpiece coming up in chapter 19, and we have two more commisons for upcoming chapters on my hard drive, one of which is my all time favorite, along with several more planned.

Jan to June is a horrible time for either of us to write due to work issues. We have big plans for the summer, and hopefully, we can knock out 3-4 more chapters, including our favorite one that we finsihed two years ago!

We are still trying hard to make this an illustrated story, but sometimes, those darn day jobs (and life in general) get in the way of our progress.

We are 56 thousand words into what we think will be an 80 to 100 thousand word story, and writing that many words takes a fair amount of time. I just hope that the majority of the people reading it have enjoyed it as much as we have writing it.

I certainly enjoy it, and the Silver Age -ness of it doesn't bother me.
