Halloween Girls was great. Just read it. I'm a bit behind I guess. That guy Randall is one lucky bastard. Hope the new bad girl has found a way to make her charge stick.

Thanks for the updates. More reading ahead!

DKC is on a roll. Just read the Amulet. Lots of action and powers used. Reminds me of an old 'Sharon Best' story about a guy who uses an Arion mind control device on Supergirl and ends up in a similar situation.

Loved this story DKC! :D

Those are all older stories I had thought about writing and then abruptly stopped..Some as long as 5-6 yrs ago...I submitted them all as 1 story. I kinda hoped they were going to be posted like that. I am curious though...why was Sitagem removed from the list...Just curious

Why am I not seeing these? When I go to the "Date Deposited" list, "Halloween Girls" (26 October ) is at the top. Anyone else having this problem?

I'd hate for you to have to be looking at one of my stories all the time...

It may be a caching issue. You could try refreshing the page, or clearing the cache. What browser/OS are you using?

And G7: You're still at the top of the list, with "Skylark."

Full disclosure: I was a beta reader for this story. I liked the draft, I love the revised version. Great characterization, excellent action, and an element of pathos that sets this story apart from its predecessors. The pieces of your alternate history are fitting together nicely, and I'm hoping you'll carry it into the post-war years. So many possibilities!

Will you be getting TGK to illustrate this one, too?

Thank you. I have some definite ideas for individual stories and a vague timeline going forward, but it's still fluid. "Liberty Belle" was intended to be a one-off, after which I would move on to a different alt history. I hope I will get to carry the story forward a little more at least.

It looks like there will be an illustration forthcoming for this one as well.

Always a fan of teliesan, excellent work! Also Skylark is great. The stories really gave a thought about consequence and showcased great characterization. Well done.

I really enjoyed The Amulet by DKC. A coupla things came to mind so...

The ending worked, sort of, but there's room to strengthen the twist. The two obvious things that came to mind are 1) the supergirl control agent takes the amulet for himself setting up the next story 2) the husband had an amulet too. Better not to kill him. He could be at the final scene and be revealed as a villian plotting against her all this time. In thrillers the villain is always the person closest to the protagonist. Whitney Houston's sister in The Body Guard and Harrison Ford's trusted friend in The Fugitive. Check it out the next time you're watching a thriller.

It seemed anti-climatic to have the amulet that wreaked such havoc destroyed so simply. But major props for the idea of it - a new kryptonite with erotic results. Yeah, baby! Maybe I'm being too critical cause this story delivers the goods on super nookie.

There were some technical things. Typos. Sometimes the switch to a new point of view could have been smoother so I didn't have to reread the sentence and think 'oh we're in supergirl's head now.'

This part is my personal taste: I would have gone without the murders. The stone makes her horny. Mass murder is kind of heavy to commit just to be able to fool around. She could have used a little creativity to get the money. Using her superpowers in funnier ways. She could use her xray vision to disrobe people instead of disembowel them. It's basically a ribald tale and the violence takes it to another place - a different genre. But there's a grand tradition of mixing sex and violence so who am I to say.

I love the twist at the beginning. The stone worn round the neck that gives the wearer powers stronger that superwoman is so good the story should be titled THE AMULET :) Very fun story.

Thanks for your 2c Martin…In truth I wrote the story way back in the day. I think we had a WShop going pertaining to a SuperGirl who goes bad and this is the story I started writing, but then decided to write a different one…which ended up being Kryptonian hunter.. When I submitted this one I cut off the last few pages and ended it abruptly just like the 3 other stories I submitted, they’re all incomplete. And your right…I could have had a lot of fun writing more about that amulet and Super Susan. The idea of the Solidier using the amulet to his will would have been entertaining. Glad you liked it!

Admin? Stitagem? Should I have hinted that Nadia was a Christian? =P

I loved all the stories. It's certainly great to see so many good reads appearing.

I really enjoyed Strangers on a Train. Just an ordinary day for a man and a (super)woman until it all goes wrong. I would certainly be interested in reading more.

My favourite, though, has to be Skylark. I really do love these Alternate Histories. I thought the jumping back and forth between different places and times was effective and it's a good explanation of why nobody knew about the first superwoman of the war (the first in the history of this alternate timeline? Who knows?). I certainly look forward to reading about the inevitable Soviet and fugitive Nazi superwomen, though I suspect I won't be as comfortable with them as I am with the American and British ones. And maybe the desperate Japanese have managed to cobble together one of their own in order to stave off the inevitable. As Argo said, so many possibilities.

DKC, the reason why I didn't post Stitagem was....well.....I forgot to link it! :P Funny that I had, SO many stories to treat -- a rare problem indeed! But I apologize! Ironic that I skipped THAT one cause it was probably my favorite! It is up and linked now (and announced in a separate thread)

Thanks

Sorry to be so slow responding, but I just got back from a little Vacation in Vegas and I left the laptop at home.

I really enjoyed all the stories. I can't recall when we have have so many great ones all at once. Maybe back in 2005 or 6.

GEEKSEVEN, I really have to take a momment here to stop and single you out. Over the past few months, you have done the seamingly impossible; you have breathed new life and enthusiasim into this site! I think we all owe you a major debt of gratitude!

DKC loved your three stories. Clearly at least two of them were Sagas that you decided to just finish up as short stories. I really thought the Fed guy knew exactly what was going on and was going to take the amulet for himself and uncle sam (at least to start with) before it would corrupt him.

And in "The Choice", You could see how the Good person would become the evil rich Lex Luthor type", while the Paris Hilton selfish vain type would become a truly good Superheroine. Or would it go down that way?
Glad you left the door open on that one, and its a good thing that Captain
Sherry Jones of the secret gov strike team knows about the amulet as well as has an idea about where it's twin may be hidden! Just in case you or with your permission, someone else wants to continue this great story line.

Thanks again guys.

Time for me to get busy as well.

Stitagem was a lot of fun. It's like the first chapter of a book. There was a dialogue that was technically a question but ended with a period. Nit pickin', I know. A misspelling somewhere, too.

I'd love to see where the story goes. Does the new Stitagem change for the good with her powers? Those powers in the hands of an evil doer would mean the end of civilization in a matter of weeks.
