SuperGirl of Smallville - Chapter 21 Now Posted -- 3/26/10

I do love it when another chapter of Supergirl of Smallville turns up and this certainly hasn't disappointed me. Thanks to both Ace and Argo very much for the work that goes into it.

Fantastic stuff guys. Good pace, nice character work, a couple of good action bits, and the artwork was, as ever, great.

Only thing I didn't like was that Jake Ryder guy, he really rubs me the worng way. Bad boy, good looking, loved by everyone,... its like every character trait I can't stand concentrated into an entity of singular annoyance. Please tell me he turns out to be evil and Supergirl has to... deal with him. Violently. :twisted:

Jake Ryder was one of Ace's contributions. At first I wasn't keen on introducing a new character so late in the story, but he turned out to be a fun character to write. We wanted him to be cocky and obnoxious, and judging by CNJ's reaction, it looks like we succeeded. He'll be facing Supergirl in the next chapter -- but that's all I'm going to say. I'd forgotten about Jack Ryder (a.k.a. the Creeper) until Anon's post reminded me, so no -- there's no relation between the two characters.

Ace and I have drafted about 80% of the next chapter, so we hope to be posting it before too long. Feedback like yours is a real motivator to keep writing!

TGK can do anything we can think up. There is a nice x-ray vision picture in Chapter Nine. We will definitely try to keep this request in mind. The next two chapters have already been 80-90% written, and they have two pictures each. Two are finished, and TGK is working on the last two now.

So bottom line, it may take us a while to get to it, but I am sure that we will.

How remiss of me not to thank TGK as well. While I'm sure I'd still love the story, it wouldn't be the same wthout the great illustrations. Thanks for reminding me of that.

And with regards toJack Ryder, you certainly made him obnoxious. I don't think I liked him any more than CNJ.

By far the best continuing series in the story bank. Any idea when chapter 22 will be seen?

There's no need for rudeness I asked q question and got ignored unacceptable in my books. I appreciate your busy but your story is not the be all and end all if my life. A simple "were writing the story and it will be up as soon as will do". So let's write the next chapter for you. Lana was walking along when she saw a aeroplane crashing to the ground. She turned to her left and her right and knew this was a job for. The worlds mightest girl. In an instant she had gone from mousy lana Lang to powerful supergirl. Her super brain knew she had a few seconds before the plain crashed so she broke the sped barrier to get there as soon as possible. She arrived at the plane in a few seconds And without any strength at all swooped infer the 10 ton plane. She started to gravitate it towarda Paris with her mighty muscles. She then landed the plane as the passengers chanted supergirl supergirl"

Argo and I were very close to finishing chapter 22 at the end of May, and then I left the country for a couple of weeks and I was out of internet range for most of that time, and then I came back to a small mountain of work on my desk that accumulates whether I am there or not. I did a couple of honey do's this morning (my wife left her trunk open all night for the second time in as many weeks and killed yet another battery). I finished just in time to catch the World Cup, then off to work (well ok, I stopped by the comic book store for the first time in months on the way). At 7 pm I was bushed and hung it up for the day.

I just got back from Saturday night dinner and I caught this post.

Argo has been very busy with other things (work, vacation and baseball)
and I have not heard from him in 8 days. He very rarely checks the boards here, so I will have to apologize for missing your post, but to be fair, I was out of the country at the time you posted it.

We have a great TGK illustration for it in the can so to speak, so as soon as the final revisions are finished, we will send it to Admin.

We finished chapter 23 THREE YEARS AGO, so it should not take long to
revise one last time. We have two great TGK illustrations in the can for that as well.

I will most likely spend a good part of July 5th at my desk, and that should just about completely bail me out of the deep hole I have been in for the last couple of weeks.

Hopefully by then, Argo will be finished with whatever he has been up to and we will "Get Er Done!"

If the story's not the be-all end-all of your life, then why post something so snitty and petulant? You're out of line in the extreme and an apology or explanation to the authors should be something you strongly consider.

As for the authors, I agree with one part of his post: Supergirl of Smallville is as charming, well-plotted, and well-written as any serial could be. Please accept my gratitude on behalf of your ah, more reasonable readers. It's a terrific story you're weaving, and delightfully presented. Thank you so very much for your hard and unpaid work. I wish praise were reward enough.
