Madness! Of the March kind!

Madness! Of the March kind! was created by lfan
Ah, perhaps the best 4 consecutive days of the year starting tomorrow! with 48 games of basketball being played in venues around the country.
There HAVE to be some NCAAB fans here, so let's discuss brackets shall we....

Mine is still pending, but I'm leaning towards a Kansas/WVU matchup in the finals with the Jayhawks taking the prize. I'd like to pick a more "creative" choice, but I don't think any other team has the tools to do it and the experience.

I think Kentucky is out in the Elite 8, a victim of inexperience and fewer "down home cooking" with foul calls, getting their vaunted front line in trouble. Duke is a weak #1 seed IMO and I see OSU, 'Cuse, and the others as being too incosistent, especially with Orangemen losing a key player.

Unfortunately, while I like my teams (Gators) bracket (Midwest) in the first couple rounds, its too brutal for them to emerge from it intact.

I knopw we have some Mizzou, KU, Utah, FSU, and other schools represented here, so let's discuss....

Peace
ElF

I'm flexible...if netball not your game, we can talk about Chelsea getting waxed by Inter Milan last night :)

As a Mizzou fan, I cannot, in good conscience, pick KU to win it all. Therefore, I will go with Kentucky to cut down the nets.

As for Mizzou, I think they lose in the second round to West Virginia. We lack a big man in the middle to match up with physical teams like them. If we don't get takeaways, we're toast.

JD...no sweat about the KU thing. Being a Gator, I cannot even find myself picking FSU to advance (EVER)! :)

Yeah, Mizzou will have their hands full with WVU, who should really be a one seed I think. I think Kentucky is prob the most talented team (and being one of the tallest helps too) but I'm thinking their young players crack a little under the pressure. I had them getting bounced in the Elite 8. But if Wall/Bledsoe/Cousins can stay out of foul trouble and stay cool, you might be right in your prediction.

Well, my heart is always with Pitt, but I don't see them getting past the Sweet 16. Gotta go with Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky...and Notre Dame. Not all that impressed with the South bracket, so I think ND can squeak through.

In the end it'll be Kansas and Kentucky, with Kansas winning it all.

Hope you didn't fill in that bracket for ND in pen! :) Wow, 2 OT (BYU/UF & Nova/Robert Morris) games and one down to the wire (ODU/ND). Great start to the tourney, though my bracket is imploding right now!

Yep, ND was a dud for me. Bunch of crazy upsets (and a HUGE near upset) on the 1st day.

Great. I had both Vandy and Notre Dame in the elite eight in one bracket (I only filled out two).

Don't worry, the other one is in the process of imploding also. Well, better luck next year...

Georgetown was the most surprising game for me. I mean, have they ever heard of defense? Ohio didn't just "pull the upset", they dominated from start to finish.

And of course, I had Georgetown in the elite eight in my other bracket so it is now destroyed also.

What? KU lost? YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so glad that KU and their crappy fans will not soil my city with their presence. Much better to have Kurt Warner's alma mater instead.

Once more, with feeling: YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kentucky over Syracuse.
Baylor's still alive, so that's 3 out of 4 still in the hunt for me.
Of course I had Kansas as well - but who didn't?
In good shape. For now...

Better than I, Yosh....I only have 2 of my four left, but I do still have 5/8 for my elite Eight. I had KU as Champ, so that kills me.....

One of my final 2 has made it. I was smart enough to see that Duke had an easy route to the Final Four, and I picked them over WVU for some unknown reason.

Boy that made me look good.

Well my mom doesn't have any brackets. What she has is her team, Butler, in the final game!

I finished 185,188th nationally on Yahoo. That might not sound great, but it put me in the 92nd percentile. I also finished 7th out of 116 in the gopherhole.com pickem.

Not a bad result.
