So apparently Teri Hatcher (formerly Lois Lane on "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman") is going to appear this season on Smallville. And ironically, she'll be playing the mother of Lois Lane (played by Erica Durance) in an episode where Lois finds an old video of her mother.
If I remember correctly, they're previously established on Smallville that Lois's mother died when Lois was very young, which is why she and her sister were raised by "the general". It wouldn't surprise me if this turned out to be one of those "shocking revelation" episodes where Lois finds out her mother's actually alive and abandoned the family.
