Falcon HTV-2: Military to Launch Fastest-Ever Plane
The experimental aircraft is fast enough to travel from New York to Los Angeles in just 12 minutes. By contrast, it would take a normal jet more than five hours to make that same trip.

When asked her thoughts on the project, Super- insert your fav fantasy super-girl here let out a big yawn and said, "BFD. I can fly at least 100,000 times faster than that."
Hmm ... Marisa Krystian would make a pretty nice überbabe, no?

Is it possible for normal humans to fly in that thing?

No people unless you only want a one way ticket.
It has no landing gear. It's really a one way - high speed – guided projectile.
This is “phase one” and is a “technology” (snicker) platform as a proof of concept. There are lots of good guesses on what future projects it might spawn.

For some reason I expected something like that to happen, still I think this news can be very interesting story material.

With the financial crisis, will it be possible to dream of such a project?
