Hey All,

Just checking if any of you like me are on the east coast and if all is okay. Here in NYC we are bracing for the worst. We just had that damn earthquake the other day which was nothing serious but now this. I'm bundling up art supplies and my laptop and also my artwork and hope for the best. Take care and don't get blown away by the winds

Stay safe and dry, Bionic.

Here in central Massachusetts, we're expecting strong winds and heavy rains but nothing too destructive (knock wood). I used to think that one advantage of living in New England is that disastrous weather events are relatively infrequent -- but just in the last nine months we've seen record-breaking snowfalls, a tornado, and now this.

...and it all started when I left New England for New Orleans.

Everyone on the East Coast stay safe, y'hear?

yeah I'm on the Northeast Coast too. Hope it won't be as bad as some are predicting. Be safe everyone!
Of course, a super-babe could take care of this hurricane without much fuss. Sadly, there aren't any around. :(

There's definitely something weird about being in California and telling people in NYC and New England that I'm worried about all the earthquakes and hurricanes out there. Be smart, people.

As much as I hate using a cliché, it looks like we dodged a bullet here, or at least I did, anyway. Heavy winds and rain, and the lights flickered a couple of times, but nothing unexpected or catastrophic. I don't want to make light of it though, because I know some places were hit pretty hard and some people are without power. I hope everyone in Irene's path makes it out OK.

One good thing that came out of all this: some cute gal having fun in NYC during Irene. I've dubbed her, The Hurricane Hottie. B)

Maybe I was a wee bit premature lol. Sky is dark and cloudy, and the winds are gusting again.

I live in NC about 30 minutes from where Irene made initial land fall, I did leave town on Friday just got back home today surprisingly everything is okay, we have power, phone, water and my much beloved internet! I hope everyone else comes/came out as fortunately as me and my family.

Sounds like Vermont, a state for which I have a special place in my heart, is in pretty bad shape from the flooding. People always freak about the winds, but it's the water that causes the most damage, almost every time.
