Heat Vision! and other superpowers through photomanipulation!

01 Dec 2016 00:52 #51472 by lurtz0r
Wanted to pick up the pace from a good thread that was NSFW and thus not suitable for some. Heat Vision, alternatively Laser Eyes has always been my fav superpower and aspect of superheroines. So why not a thread dedicated to posting your photoedits turning any woman super? Superbreath and other powers will also fit this thread nicely!

When the beams converge, the air gets VERY hot... a portrayal of Velorian heat vision as opposed to Kryptonian.

Quick recap of my old heat vision tutorial. Simple effect that you can play around with a lot. Starring the lovely Alexandra Daddario.

I like this one of SuperMary. It's from a series of frames that may just lend itself to a short story I'm thinking about...

Trying out a other base colors than shades of red and pink, and been finding shades of yellow and orange great. What you do is color correct with the tool "color balance" in GIMP, slide the red up on shadows and midtones and down on highlights (after duplicating slide down only on the second layer). This makes the middle section shine brighter, looking much like å beam of light.

Of course, there is always the matter of being on the receiving end of said heat vision.

Here's a picture of Ursa absorbing Superman's heat vision. I'm guessing she can handle it. And him.

Just trying out the tutorial. The buttons are slightly different in photoshop but the principles are the same. I like it!

Doesn't hurt when you can ask your actress to look in the direction you want the beams to go :).

Edit: Sorry, just remembered this thread's deliberately safe for work. I'll move the image to wilder hunting grounds. But a definite big thanks on the tutorial. I can only improve with practice!

Sorry, just remembered this thread's deliberately safe for work. I'll move the image to wilder hunting grounds.

The idea was that the old tread could serve the purpose for NSFW images, perhaps you could post it there. Link is in the OP.

Still trying out new stuff, anyone know how to do ice breath? Could be an interesting challenge.

Some of my old works using variants of G7's original tutorial.

Possibly the most basic, I just toyed around with the beam color.

This one is actually very recent and included a lot of twaking to the base image as well (courtesy of Shadar's techniques).

This one looks simple, but took me a ton of effort to make it work. The tricky bit was that I was trying to make the beam more intense after it passed through the glasses, as if they were some sort of focusing device. I think that the result isn't half bad, although the effect is very subtle.

Nice work! Like all 3 - especially the WolfEss of Wall Street -she really was giving Jordan Belfort daggers in that scene!

There are so many Kryptonian cosplay pix out there, but Supermaryface's is particularly cool!

A rather dramatic statement not only about heat vision, but about invulnerability. Nice parlor trick.

She shrugged off three very well-placed rounds, bullets pinging away, any one of which would have been fatal to an ordinary woman.

Now she gets to turn the shooter into a pair of smoking boots.
