You can take the survey here: forms.gle/cFkJ1FA5uF6tNZUX6

So most of my answers fell in the middle two areas
I think a 5 point scale would have served your survey better.
1 being dislike
3 being neutral
5 being most like.

But there's tens of people who have made it, I better keep it as it is.
If people like it, I will run something next in a while, and I will make a test group of a dozen people, in a more organized way. This time I gave it for several people to test, and it was very very helpful, but I think a dozen will catch most of the bugs.

Kim was the very first character I thought of immediately when I saw 'Bad Girl' top of list 4. : )

I have to say, I agree with this.
Wings, I'm ambivalent. I can see for some that could be one of their things. For me, I happen to like mid-old-school legion (well I like old school legion too) so I really like Dawnstar. Not because she has wings, but because she's Dawnstar and was in a comic I liked.
Though I end up liking most super-strong female characters. I had to think of one I didn't like, and eventually, I hit on one. I didn't like it when Ms. Marvel (not that one, or the other one, Sharon Ventura) became a She-Thing. It's not simply the "from another character". I love Supergirl, Ms. Marvel, Spider-Woman, She-Hulk, Mary Marvel, and Jane Foster Thor.
I never liked She-Thing (or whatever her name was). I think it's partially because I really like Ben Grimm/Thing, and she seemed just way too gimmicky. Also, she no sexy. I can't deny that might be part of it.

I think 'better than nothing' works quite well when I saw it as an option. (There's even a story title / concept in that three word phrase, which is intriguing).

I never liked She-Thing (or whatever her name was). I think it's partially because I really like Ben Grimm/Thing, and she seemed just way too gimmicky. Also, she no sexy. I can't deny that might be part of it.But it's also that the other characters had identities and stories separate from the male character they were spun off of (even if it was only in name). She was glommed right onto Thing (also, damn it, he belongs with Alicia!). So the other characters went off to be their own thing, while she was around and just seemed to devalue Ben Grimm/The Thing. (Not really the best time in FF comics or Marvel comics in general.)
I've been so selective over the years that I don't even remember She-Thing.
I will say that the original Ms. Marvel, back when she was Carol and very conflicted over who and what she was, and was still wearing the red and black costume, was a great favorite of mine. Her super and non-super identities didn't really know each other at first, but she gradually came to understand that she was both Carol and Ms. Marvel, and painfully learned to deal with the transition.
The character has changed immensely since then, and IMHO, not for the better. There was something about the original Carol that I found very appealing, not the least for being a stunning blonde who had this very male job (Security at Cape Canaveral, spaceport if I recall, which I think they fired her from because she was unstable or whatever), and how she figured out she was also this strange alien named Ms. Marvel.
I need to go back and look at my old issues... I think I have all her original run from the Bronze Age period somewhere.

You aint’ gonna get any disagreement with me about the original Ms. Marvel. I bought those issues new off the shelf. (Either it or she-hulk is probably the first title i had all the issues of). It started out really well with the spilt personalities. Great comics back then and still fun to read now. I did like the original costume, but the Dave Cockrum black redesign is the best for me.
OTH, “politics in comics”.. There is so much women’s lib stuff all over those issues .... and it’s part of what makes the comic good because it gave it a voice that fit with it’s character. The problem is generally bad writing, not politics in comics. (The modern comic Lazarus has a lot of politics in it, but it’s also really great.).
I don’t hate the Carol of today ... but I do think writers need to settle down on who she actually is. I think the recent run is doing a better job of trying to get to that. But I loved her back in the day, a really nice character.... even if she had so many jobs and such a long career that her exposure had to have de-aged her.

She-Thing/Sharon Venture (and her stint as Ms. marvel) came much much later. FF in the early 300’s. She appeared as Ms. Marvel much earlier than that (the Thing #27 in 85). Here’s what she looked like before she became “She-Thing”. (Those issues of FF eventually wore me down and I stopped buying the title for a long time. I think I didn’t really come back until Waid/Weiringo in FF vol 3 though I bought some of the simonson issues.

DC struggled to get Supergirl into her 20's, let alone portray her in her 30's. They showed her as a newly graduated college guidance-counselor for a while, but that was as far as I can recall they aged her (in any series, that is).
There was a one-off (Superman Family, iirc) where she was the Governor of Florida. I liked that issue. But it was one and gone.
But Carol l was clearly in her 30's, with a life-time of accomplishments behind her. She was a exceptional and independent woman before she was Ms. Marvel. That had potential, some of which they mined in a lot of women's lib themes, but I really thought that made the story.
I've always enjoyed stories about exceptional women who them became super exceptional..

Awww.. don't thank me dear, I was merely doing a favor of a writer of mine. Though he's been quite busy to do a new one.
I have filled it out. I look forward to seeing the results of your poll darling.
