Hi all,
After the aborted reboot of the site, I've sorted out all the problems that prevented it from happening so with that in mind I'm not going to redo the reboot on the 1st January 2017.
the procedure will be
forum closes at 10 am UK time
site back up
download backup
test backup
reinstall OS on to the server
set up server software
upload backup
restore the site from backup
As you can see it will be a busy day so all going well, the site should be back up and running at 6 pm (UK time)
