Superwoman in The Mechanical Monsters

Well everyone,here's another one,just like you wanted! :wink:

"Up in the sky,look!" "It's a bird!" "It's a plane!" "It's Superwoman!"

Faster than a speeding bullet! More powerful than a locomotive! Able to leap tall
buildings in a single bound! This amazing stranger from the planet Krypton, The
Woman of Steel: Superwoman! Empowered with X-ray vision, possessing remarkable
physical strength, Superwoman fights a never-ending battle for truth and justice,
disguised as a mild-mannered newspaper reporter, Clara Kent.

The streets were always quiet in Metropolis at this time at night,not a soul
stirred at all. Then suddenly there came an electronic whirring noise,then a
mysterious shadow floating through the streets. Then the object the shadow
belonged to,smashed in the barred window of the Metropolis National Bank!
Moments later the object came flying out the doors of the bank,and flew
off towards another destination. At a control board inside of his fortress,
inventor Walter Arlington sat smartly dressed in a black tuxedo, Arlington
had black,slicked back hair a moustache that was sharply pointed on both
ends and deranged,greedy green eyes. Arlington turned a dial on the panel
which activated the door to his headquaters. The door opened upwards,and
the mysterious object flew in. It landed,revealing itself to be a tall,
oddly shaped robot with ariel plates on it's arms,a propeller around it's neck
and a large number 5 on it's chest. It stood in front of a containment unit of
some sort. Arlington pressed a button under the number 5 on his control panel,
and a drawer on the mechanical being's back opened up. The inventor then pulled a
lever down and the robot tipped backward,hundreds of dollar bills the robot had
stolen from the bank went tumbling into the containment unit. Arlington pressed
another button under the 5 and pulled the lever back up. The slot closed,the
robot straightened up. and took slow lumbering steps over to a row of other
robots with numbers on their chests. Then the light in it's one,cycloptic
eye went out,and it was still.

The next day,the headline of the Daily Planet read "Mysterious Mechanical
Monster Loots Bank" a sub headline read "House of Jewels Exhibit Opens
To-Day. 50,000,000 Dollars of the World's Rarest Gems on Exhibit. Extreme
Precautions have been taken to Guard against Mesterious Mechanical Monster."

Inside the House of Jewels,large curtains parted to reveal exquisite,sparkling,
shimmering gems. The crowd was quite taken with them,even reporter Clara Kent,
dressed in a yellow coat and skirt with a baby blue shirt,gloves and hat was
taken with the gems'beauty as she began to write on her notepad. Suddenly, a
hand playfully tapped Clara on the shoulder. Clara turned around in suprise
to see her co-worker Louis Lane standing there in his usual dark blue jacket
pants and fedora "Louis! What are you doing here?" Clara asked sternly "Oh,just
getting the man's angle on this story." Louis said with a broad smile. All of
a sudden, a police whistle blew and Clara and Louis swung around in horror.
One of the officers guarding the building outside called out "The Mechanical
Monster. Look out!" as the robot flew towards the building the police aimed
fired their Tommy guns. The bullets had no effect on the mechanical menace,
as they merely bounced off! The robot landed and strode towards the building,
pushing aside the police as they continued to fire at it futily. The metal
beast smashed through the window of the jewelery exhibit and came closer to
Clara,Louis,and the gems as a brave officer beside the two reporters fired
at the steel demon with a pistol. Louis suddenly grabbed Clara by the arm
exclaiming "Come on you fool! You wanna get trampled?" before leading her
away. A drawer on the robots back opened up,and the metal fiend began stealing
the gems. Outside the building,in front of a telephone booth Clara told Louis
"Now you wait here. I'll phone this in." But as Clara entered the booth,Louis
snuck back into the building to witness the mechanical monster taking the jewels.
Standing on chair,Louis climbed into the monsters drawer in it's back thinking
"Let's see where this tin can will lead me to." Back inside the booth Clara was
finishing her call to Perry White "Yes,I'll give you the details later,chief."
Upon hanging up and stepping out Clara said "Alright Louis le.." then noticing
her partner wasn't there,she called out "Louis!" Clara then scratched her head
wondering "Where did that mischevious runt go to?" Clara's thoughts were interrupted
by the sound of the robot's engine whirring. Clara looked up to see the robot flying
off,the police firing after it. Figuring the robot had Louis,Clara said to herself
in a proud voice "This is a job for Superwoman!" Clara reentered the phone booth
and stripped herself of her outer garments,her glasses,and undid the bun behind
her head,and emerged in her blue and red Superwoman costume! Superwoman then took
a mighty leap and soared into the sky!

Upon spotting the robot,Superwoman zoomed towards it,and used her x-ray vision on the
mechanical beings back,there she saw Louis sitting among the diamonds looking confused.
Superwoman flew to the robot's back and attempted to force the drawer open. In
Arlington's lab the control panel under the robot's number lit up with the word
"Interference" while an alarm rang. The inventor pressed a button,and at that moment
in the air,the machine swung completley around,knocking Superwoman off and opening
it's drawer, spilling the jewels out and Louis hung on for dear life to the drawer's
edge while screaming in terror! Superwoman landed on some power lines and snapped them,
falling to the earth entangled in them! Louis was still hanging on,when the monster
flipped back around,placing Louis into the drawer again,which shut instantly.

Inside Arlington's mountainside lab,the inventor had opened the door and was guiding
the robot in. Upon reaching the containment unit,it's drawer opened and as it bent
backwards,Louis slid out. Upon looking around and all the robots Louis mused "What
a story this is going to make." Upon seeing Louis and no sign of the gems,the
mad inventor demanded sternly "The jewels! What have you done with the jewels?"
"You'll read about it in tomorrow's paper!" Louis said undaunted. "Are you going
to tell me what happened to those jewels?" Arlington asked menacingly while reaching
out his hands to throttle Louis.

Meanwhile,Superwoman broke free of the sparking power lines and took to the skies
again thinking "Louis! I just hope I'm not too late!"

Below Arlington's base of operation's is a room containing a large dipping unit of
molten steel,above this,reporter Louis Lane sat on a thin plank of wood,bound and
gagged. "So you won't tell me? You'll soon change your mind!" Arlington said wickedly,
he then pulled a lever which began lowering Louis into the hellish pit! Suddenly,there
came a banging on the large steel door! Arlington went upstairs to investigate,only
to see Superwoman break the door down and come rushing in! "Superwoman!" Arlington
exclaimed fearfully! He headed over to his control panel and activated the robots.
One by one they sprang to life,lurching towards The Woman of Steel,belching flames
out of the tubes on their blunted snouts. As they moved in,their flamethrowers
founds Superwoman's body,The Maiden of Might shielded herself,but the robots began to
pound Superwoman to the ground. Suddenly,Superwoman sprang up and landed mighty blows
to each of the mechanical monsters. Superwoman threw the metal beasts at each other,
turning them to scrap in mere seconds! Just as Arlington ran from his console,
Superwoman lifted three whole robots over her head and threw them at it. The
control panel exploded into a magnificent ball of orange flame! Now behind the
giant wooden doors of the underground portion of his lair,Arlington sealed it
with a large wooden post. No sooner had he walked over to where Louis was,that
Superwoman broke through the door like it was made out of paper! Arlington produced
a knife from his pocket and positioned towards the rope that suspended Louis' seat
in the air,saying threateningly "Take one more step,and he's doomed!" Superwoman
made a motion towards Louis,and in one swift motion,Arlington cut the rope! Louis
plummeted to his doom,but Superwoman,moving faster than the eye could see ran and
took a flying leap and caught Louis in her arms,placing him safely on the ground,
removing his ropes and gag in the process. Not to be defeated so easily,Arlington
a lever which poured the molten steel down on the two,but Superwoman saw this,
and shielded Louis from the lava with her invunerable cape! The mad inventor
seeing this, attempted to run for his life,but Superwoman,taking Louis in one arm,
jumped up to where he was and prevented him from jumping to his death by grabbing him
in her other arm before running out of the laboratory and jumping into the air before
coming back down to earth with Louis hanging on her and Arlington dangling from her
free hand!

The next day the headline of the Planet read "Superwoman Destroys Mechanical Monsters"
sub headlines read "Inventor Jailed,Millions In Stolen Jewels Recovered" and
"Superwoman Vanishes Again" the byline read "Story by Louis Lane" In Louis' office
Louis and Clara were looking over the front page together "That's a wonderful story,
Louis." Clara congratulated. "Thanks,Clara. But I owe it all to Superwoman." Louis
replied warmly. Clara looks at us, nods,smiles and winks!
