Heroineburgh Episodes 11-13 characters sneak peek for the summer!

27 Mar 2018 22:25 - 06 Jul 2018 06:46 #58971 by shevek
Heroineburgh Episodes 8-10 are now out and available! (see the separate announcement thread), so we are already preparing for an exciting summer of filming Episodes 11-13 which will conclude Heroineburgh Season 1 (next season will start in the late fall). We've prepared all the scripts, we did preliminary character photo shoots, and we're now shooting the episodes.

So it would be great to have feedback on what everyone thinks of the new lineup of characters that will be debuting in
October as part of the nascent Pittsburgh Superheroine League, and a couple of villainesses too,

Here they are - let us know!

In Episode 11, Indian superheroine Arogya the Healer will make her debut. Dr. Maitreyi "Marty" Gupta is a doctoral intern who gains the power to both heal and harm living cellular tissue. As a geneticist, she also discovers the method by which the heroines are gaining their superpowers. There are some evil people who want that information - so watch out doctor!

Also in Episode 11, genetic scientist Claire Morena (a classmate of Marty's) is obsessed with the idea of furthering human cloning technology. The dark energy meteor gives her the power to emit toxic gases which cloud people's minds and poison them, and she becomes the villainess Chlorina to pursue her own experiments. It'll be up to Arogya to stop her!

In Episode 12, overworked TV reporter Rosa Mendez is a single mother whose only wish is to be a Super-Mom for her two children. She gains the superhuman powers of incredible strength, speed, flight and superbreath (no X-ray vision, sorry), and becomes the Puerto Rican powerhouse - Poderosa! Think Lois Lane meets Power Girl.

In Episode 13, millionaire Republican businesswoman and Austrian immigrant Angela Schwarzwald owns a chain of fitness centers and nutritional supplement stores. She dreams of being the strongest, most powerful woman in the world, and the meteor transforms her into Frija, the uberfrau with the strength and invulnerability of forty men! Jane Foster meets Arnold Schwarzenegger is the general idea. She also has an assistant who is similar to Luthor's Mercy Graves. But she's on the side of good, believing in an authoritarian style of law and order.

Finally, we're even giving you a sneak peek into Season 2., Early in S2, this villainess will appear. A teacher of commedia dell'arte, Isabella Caruso is fired from the drama department of a local university which regards her style of theater as obsolete. Bombarded by dark energy, she gains the power to plant negative emotions (fear, doubt, sadness) in the minds of others, and also amasses an arsenal of deadly prop weapons. An evil sexy clown with a mean streak (think Harley Quinn meets Scarecrow), she becomes the vengeful Pagliaccia, allying herself with the mob which is sure to cause trouble for Italian bombshell Vendetta and her superheroine friends!

Only one of the five characters above has tattoos, and she's a villain so it's part of her mystique. The rest do not. It's Ok to pick and choose the ones you like, that's what the diversity of the series is all about.

As for the nose piercings, I actually had no problem with the Indian superheroine keeping her nose piercing because it fits well with her Hindu goddess persona. But it turns out that in the episode her nose won't be pierced..we've already filmed a bunch of scenes without it. So your prayers have been..answered?

Anyway, here's a cool update:

If you're near Pittsburgh PA this weekend (April 13-15) you can come visit our superheroines live at the Steel City Con
at the Convention Center in Monroeville. Tickets: www.steelcitycon.com

The appearance schedule:

Fri Apr 13 - Noon - 2 pm the debut of Heroineburgh Episodes 8-10 in the big event hall
Meet X-Machina, Dysphoria, Darbouka, Jinniyya, Savanna and Quingpin, all from Episodes 8-10.
Later at 3 pm, meet Arcana from Episode 7.

Sat Apr 14 - Meet Fianna (Episode 5) and Poderosa (from upcoming Episode 12).
Later at 2 pm, meet Etherea (Episode 7) and at 3:30 pm meet Serpenta (Episode 9).

Thanks Agent00Soul!

Over the weekend all of these characters above debuted live at our local Comicon (except Frija, who will debut at another local Con in May), and they were all incredibly enthusiastic and should be excellent on camera. We can't wait to work with all of these fantastic heroines over the summer months! (for release in October).

Steel City Con Days 2 and 3: April 14-15, 2018.

The Con and its huge crowds (who came to see Alice Cooper, Worf and Dax, John Wesley Shipp, Barbara Eden and other celebs) was a great opportunity to debut our newest characters whom we'll be filming this summer.

On Day 2, Puerto Rican powerhouse Poderosa (Christina, in the center) was excited about a team-up with Episode 5's Irish warrior banshee Fianna (Emily) and Episode 7's mysterious mistress of bliss Etherea (Maura).

Then on Day 3, a battle royale almost disturbed the Con when when virtuous Indian heroine Arogya the Healer (Shani) encountered her nemesis, the toxic villainess Chlorina (Sarah W). Luckily, they broke off their conflict in the name of science!

We are looking forward to filming these new characters in the summer (Episodes 11-13 for release in October) and also premiering Episodes 8-10 at Pittsburgh Filmmakers on April 29.

More sneak peeks on the characters we're developing for the summer in Heroineburgh Episodes 11-13.

Here's Puerto Rican superwoman Poderosa (played by Christina) making her debut appearance at the Steel City Con,
before she premieres in Episode 12. Kind of like Lois Lane meets Power Girl, she's a single mom and a reporter for a TV station who
gains super strength, super speed, super breath and the ability to fly all in one evening!

Here's German uberfrau Frija (playe d by Ashley) judging the karaoke contest which was the kickoff to 3 Rivers Con, before her debut in Episode 13.
A millionaire Republican businesswoman, her desire to be the strongest woman in the world is fulfilled.

We are proud to introduce the villainous Vaporia (played by Valiha) starting with Episode 11. With the power to turn herself all or partially into smoke, she runs a vape shop during the day, but at night she's in charge of a secret cabal of villainry, along with her husband, the corrupt cop Mark Drake.

Next up is the Indian-American heroine Arogya the Healer (played by Shani), who has the power to mend or destroy living tissue. We're in the middle of filming her debut episode (Episode 11) right now, and here's a scene where she first transforms into her superheroine costume in the hallway.

We've also got the debut of husband-wife burglary team Fenneca and Canis, aka the Fox and the Hound (played by Lara and Alexi). No longer ordinary criminals...Penelope grows claws that enable her to scale walls, and develops enough strength to rip doors off hinges. She's the brawn! Meanwhile, Dwight develops super-senses that allow him to pick locks, disable alarm systems, avoid danger, and detect hidden loot. He's the brains! Together they attempt a heist beneath the nose of a superheroine in Episode 13.

Finally, we have a brand new actress playing the role of Cybrina, who was first introduced in Episode 1. For those who don't recall, Cybrina is secretly computer coder Sabrina Walters, who has the powers of electricity generation and cybernavigation (she can turn into information and travel through the Internet). Kay is an avid cosplayer who's ready to step into the role established by Nikki (who moved to NYC). Cybrina will be in charge of the computer systems of the new Pittsburgh Heroine League in Episode 13.

More information soon. Enjoy the summer, and we'll enjoy making three new episodes of Heroineburgh!

Hi everyone...new update for July!

We're done with principal photography for Episode 11 of Heroineburgh (Doctor, Doctor: Arogya vs Chlorina) and are moving through the
post-production phase, including some nice visual effects to represent the powers of both the heroine and two villainesses (including the
first appearance of Vaporia).

Here are some photo stills from Episode 11. We begin shooting Episode 12 (starring Poderosa) next week!

Dr. Marty Gupta notices a commotion down the hall in the genetics building. It's her classmate Clare, acting like a vengeful B-movie
villain who calls herself Chlorina. Time to make her debut as,,,Arogya the Healer!

Chlorina uses her toxic touch to place the lab techs under her control. She commands them to attack Arogya..can she break free?

Arogya tries to use her powers of inducing pain receptors to subdue the chaotic Chlorina...but will that be enough to stop her?

Arogya is concerned she might have gone too far with the negative effects of her powers, but realizes it was necessary to stop the villainess.

Is the resentful Chlorina really down for the count..or will she rise and strike back again?

Arogya believes she has Chlorina properly restrained for genetic testing...but then comes a ominous knock at the door!

Hope you enjoyed this sneak peek at the action from Episode 11..there's a lot more costumed screen time and power usage, as the characters discover and explore their new abilities. Plus Vaporia makes her debut as well. Check our Youtube channel for a few outtakes from the episode.

Now on to Episode 12 next week!

We've begun filming Episode 12 with the amazing Christina playing TV reporter and mother-of-two Rosa Perez, who becomes the Latina superheroine Poderosa. Our first day of filming consisted of flying sequences on the green screen, and a superpower usage montage (including super-strength, super-speed and superbreath). Christina is so enthusiastic, plunging into her role as Poderosa quite beautifully.

Tomorrow night we do the table read for the rest of Episode 12 and then several days of filming in the next two weeks. Check out some
candid moments from our first day of filming:

Poderosa stands confident and proud, ready to take off into the sky to chase down the criminals.

Poderosa looking sassy for the camera.

And of course no superheroine can pursue the bad guys without looking good in action. So Poderosa has to apply some lipstick and makeup.

In her civilian attire, Rosa Perez tests out her super-speed powers picking up everything that she launched off the kitchen countertop using
her superbreath. The mess is gone in an instant!

Side shot of Poderosa in flight.

Poderosa (portrayed by the amazing Christina) will be displaying all of her powers multiple times in her debut episode, both in her civilian clothing and in her costume (and trust me, she looks great in both!). Two uses of superbreath will be included in that episode, one in her kitchen and one during the process of apprehending a robber. Episode 12 will be out in early November.

Here are some stills from the scenes we shot this week with the Rosa Perez / Poderosa character:

This is part of a dream sequence where Rosa passes out during the meteor energy bomardment and dreams that she is a superheroine.

She lifts the bed up with one hand, dragging out her daughter who is trapped under it.

She carries her daughter to safety.

Poderosa tells her children, Lisa and Max, that they need to help keep her secret.

Poderosa is introduced at a Latino community gathering as the new official superheroine of WPTV Channel 16.

Another shot of Poderosa making her speech.

Intrepid TV reporter Rosa Perez looking professional in her gorgeous dress.

Rosa surveying the damage as she takes out two thieves and prepares to incapacitate the third one.

Rosa and her loyal cameraman Pete, who has a crush on her but is always respectful.

Rosa and Pete take a selfie near the three criminals that she brought down singlehandedly.

Christina relaxing between takes and showing off her muscles. Que fabulosa!

Hello everyone! It's time to report on the hard work we've been doing on Episode 13 (the Heroineburgh Season 1 finale!) all through the past month. Not only does Episode 13 introduce the final heroine - German uberfrau Frija - and the superpowered husband/wife burglary team - Fenneca the Silver Fox and Canis the Hound - but it also brings back the vast majority of the heroines from the past 12 episodes! Watch as the inaugural meeting of the Pittsburgh Heroine League devolves into a knockdown, drag-out over who should take charge. Will the heroines be able to look past their differences and unite to face a common foe?

First, we have the German heroine Frija, ably portrayed by the powerful Sarah S.
Frija is a Republican millionaire businesswoman who owns a chain of fitness gyms and health-supplement stores, but don't worry - she's a good guy. Just a little bit arrogant, being that she's the strongest woman in the city (matched only by the might of Latina heroine Poderosa).

Then we've got the Fox and the Hound. Dwight and Penny started out as a Bonnie-and-Clyde style criminal duo, But when they get their superpowers, they take things up a notch. Canis the Big Dog uses his super-senses to crack security systems and detect danger, while
Fenneca the Silver Fox uses her super-strength and sharp claws to tear off windows and scale the walls of buildings. Will they meet their match, however, when they try to burglarize Frija's fitness company?

The episode also introduces some new actresses to the core heroine roles. Meet Bridget who is our new Arctica for Episode 13 and Season 2.

Meet Mollie who will be playing Devana in Episode 13 and Season 2.

Meet Rachel who will be playing Vendetta just for Episode 13.

And meet Kay who steps into the role of Cybrina and will return in Season 2.

And finally there's the big finale scene in the new Heroine League headquarters, conveniently located at the top of one of Pittsburgh's most famous skyscrapers. Be prepared to witness superheroine battles galore when the episodes comes out in November, but for now we'll tease you with a couple of group shots and one conference close-up. Both group photos also include James, who plays the Mayor of Pittsburgh. HEROINES ASSEMBLE!

And of course here's the newest graphic by DC Comics artist Jason Wright, featuring the remaining heroines from Episodes 10 through 13: Frija, Arogya, Poderosa and Darbouka. Look for Episodes 11-13 to come out in November, and in the meantime check out Episodes 1-10
available for download at the Video Store at www.heroineburgh.com.

Longshot, of course, but if anyone on this forum is in the Pittsburgh area on the first weekend of November, please consider stopping by one of our two premieres for Episodes 11-13. Witness the power and the peril, and all the spandex!

Heroineburgh presents two premiere events for Episodes 11-13, the concluding parts of Season One of the live-action series.
Includes the following action: A biologist at the University of Pittsburgh discovers the genetic origins of the heroine transformations, and she gains the power to alter organic tissue, becoming Arogya the Healer. A TV reporter and single mother of two becomes both a super-Mom and the Latina superwoman, Poderosa. And a German immigrant who made millions as a fitness entrepreneur realizes her dream of becoming the strongest woman in the world, Frija the uberfrau. Plus, will chaos ensue when the newly formed Pittsburgh Heroine League holds its first meeting, or will the disparate heroines unite? Find out at the following events.

Sat Nov 3 7:30 pm all ages / cosplay friendly $5 admission ($3 with costume)
Coffee Buddha 964 Perry Highway, North Hills 15237
Four screens of action! Scrumptious free treats including Captain Peggy's cop donuts, Arogya's samosas vs Poderosa's empanadas, and a villainous ice cream bar with revenge served cold.

Sat Nov 4 8:00 pm 21+ to drink (under 21 with accompanying parent)
Hambones 4207 Butler St, Lawrenceville 15201
Big projection screen and big sound! Meet the actresses. T-shirts and stickers and posters. Full restaurant menu and bar.

Looking forward to debuting these episodes in November, then taking them to the Steel City Con in December, and starting to work on Season Two!

As a parting shot, say hello to our new Arogya. Shani, who played Arogya in Episode 11, got a bit too busy with life to continue, so here comes the amazing Nupur to fill the role. Nupur will appear briefly in a clip in Episode 13 where she reports from a hidden lab while researching the genetic origins of the heroines. She'll appear with us at December Steel City Con, and then she'll be a prominent character throughout Season Two next year.

Here is the trailer for Episodes 11-13.

The stories in these episodes involves the origins of Indian superheroine Arogya, Puerto Rican heroine Poderosa, and German heroine Frija,
plus the introduction of more villains, and the new formation of the Pittsburgh Heroine League.

We are so close to being ready. We're rendering EPs 11-12 tonight, and should be able to do the same for EP13 within a couple more days.
Right now this trailer is primarily being used to promote the local premieres, but of course I'll post it in Superheroine Releases once the episodes are up on the web by late November.

Meanwhile, enjoy!

This past weekend, the premiere events for Episodes 11-13 went great: both the all-ages event at Coffee Buddha and the over-21 event at Hambone's.
New fans showed up, and the heroines and their friends attended as well. We also dedicated these events to our friend Jesse, who designed the Heroineburgh logo and unfortunately passed away at the much-too-young age of 40 a few days ago. We donated most of the door proceed to help his family with funeral expenses. Nonetheless, the premiere was a happy occasion, and everyone cheered on the heroines' adventures in completing Season One of the series. We look forward to Season Two as well as the planning of the Heroineburgh Comics label.

Here are some shots from the premieres.
Drake, Poderosa, Jinniyya and Dysphoria cease all hostilities as they gather peaceably at Coffee Buddha.

Jinniyya and Poderosa prepare for action, though - just in case!

And over at Hambone's, the motley crew of Dysphoria (in civilian form), Kurgana (future character in Season 2), Captain Peggy and Cameraman Pete have a blast!
