Strength feats in civil clothes or superhero costume?
Personally, I prefer in civilian clothes (like the old Bionic Woman, Buffy, Jessica Jones...) but I really do not know exactly why...
And you, what do you prefer? Why?

Even better, ordinary clothing that gets shredded during battle.

Interesting... I missed that. Other than the opening scene in Episode 1, Season 1, where she bumps into someone to send them reeling (and then apologizes), I don't recall that. I've been assuming that one of the hard rules of the show was that she didn't use her superstrength when in civvies and wearing her glasses. If she has to get super, she tears off her clothes to reveal the costume beneath.
But I haven't seen all the episodes in Season 4. Just a few early ones and the last couple.
Do you recall off the top of your head which episode had a scene like that? Otherwise, I can go looking for it.

Maybe Shadar is referring to Kara as the super airtewardess as played by Laura Van de Voort? (Let's face it, there's only going to be one winner in that one, and boy, does she take it all!)
When it comes to being Super in civvies, Teri Hatcher had it all, zooming around stopping trucks with her bare hands. I think Clark killed it a bit with her UW costume...and who the hell would try and stop an Ultra-Lucille?

I wasn't referring to that Smallville episode, but to your point, that is the most impressive scene involving a superfemale ever filmed, at least when it comes to using superstrength and superpowers in general. Total intimidation and physical dominance, which a Kryptonian is most capable of.
Pure gold and Laura V knew exactly how to pull it off. One of a handful of amazing scenes in Smallville involving "Supergirl".

Ok, I did see that. I was thinking in terms of full-on use of powers.
Of course, we can't forget the first ever episode where she saved the airliner in her civvies (before she even had a costume).
I can't convey how effective Season 1, Episode 1 was in igniting my imagination and my hopes for a great show. A fantastic opening for a show if there every was one.

And a follow on one with Luthor, that is nicely done, but not as dramatic:
Of course, both are Brainiac in control of Kara, but still, we don't get to see badass versions of Supergirl very often... and yes, in civvies. Albeit in Kryptonian colors.

Great work from the SuperAirstewardess in that scene on the private jet. Laura played it impeccably! Especially the "Enjoy the rest of your flight" before turning her head to the rear of the plane...don't all SuperAirstewardesses have to say that? Superpowers in a civilian uniform takes things to a higher level...

And frankly, it takes a truly spectacular woman wearing a skintight Spandex costume to really say "Super".
Melissa's costume in Supergirl TV doesn't quite make it, but is close.
I've been spoiled by a lifetime of comicbook art.
Anything less than Melissa's costume says "Halloween party".

Civvies are cool, and way better then a badly done costume for sure.
Peace.

P.S. LOL at "no clothes" Probably the "best" option

Civvies hanging in shreds or blown off covers all my bases.
Imagine a grenade thst she smothers by burying it between her boobs to protect a crowd of bystanders, and the image of the aftermath of the explosion, clothing mostly blown away from waist up, hair wild and tangled, chest glowing, leaving only the shredded remains of her short skirt, which is trying to fall off.
